Birdblack Design offers the entire Interior Design process. We can take you from the initial conceptual designs right through to the completion of the project, thanks to our design management service. To make it easy for you, we have produced a number of set design packages at a fixed cost. Therefore there are no surprises: you know exactly what design work you can expect to receive for the set price.
Each package lists the cost and the subsequent detail of work you will receive within a particular package. These may include full sets of drawings, selections list, travel to showrooms to select products, labour prices, etc. Within the design packages offered, you are sure to find one that accommodates you, however if you are looking for something a little more specialised, we can certainly customise a package to suit your requirements.

I'm so grateful to be living in the beautiful city of Wollongong which has given BIRDBLACK DESIGN the opportunity to flourish. As much as I'd love to be able to physically help in multiple areas, time just doesn't allow me to do so. Like most people, between work, health and sports, relationships and extracurricular activities, spare time is often a rare commodity.
Our full home design package is certainly our most popular package. We have found that more and more clients are opting to either renovate their entire home or build a brand new one. Offering a full home package ensures all areas are accounted for, achieving a harmonious design throughout. This package is made up of a combination of our smaller packages but at a discounted rate.
The kitchen has certainly evolved from its preceding design - an enclosed room in which usually only the mother or the hired help utilised. In this day and age, the kitchen has been transformed as the heart of the home. It's a place where the entire family gathers and a space where everyone can get involved.
It takes clever design and knowledge of which products work best together to achieve the perfect bathroom design. You will be amazed by the level of detail that is required to ensure a bathroom is not only functional in its layout, product selection and storage systems, but also in making it look exquisite - whatever the budget you're working with.
The laundry is such an important space that gets used on a daily basis especially for working families. So often it is an afterthought at the design stage. It's not just a room for your token appliances like a washing machine and a dryer. When looked at in detail it can provide you with a functional workspace for hanging clothes, ironing clothes, a space for mops and brooms, linen storage, bulk storage or pantry overrun- the list is endless.

We recently built our home and had a bare front room which was being used as a home office and additional seating area. We met with Stuart at Birdblack Design and discussed our design brief which included inbuilt storage, display cabinets and inbuilt study desks. Stuart answered all our questions, provided useful suggestions, and presented us with alternate designs based on our requests and budgets. My partner and I have always been the type to like something in the store, but we get it home and nothing goes with anything. Rather than keeping replacing our decisions, or keeping and despairing them, we decided to invest in an interior designer. We saw Birdblack through their awards and numerous positive reviews. Having built our home over 20 years ago, our kitchen needed an upgrade. I had always admired BirdBlack's work on instagram, so when it was time, it was a no brainer, I reached out.
Sarah and Rachel were wonderful to work with. Their ideas, style, and options were well thought out, creative and presented in a professional way. Having a 3D render of the kitchen design was fantastic.
For me, having BirdBlack engaged in my Kitchen was the best decision made. The kitchen is the heart of the home and getting it right was important.

Sarah, Stuart and Rachel were engaged to redesign our large open plan kitchen living and dining space. As with a lot of renovations one thing led to other and we added the master bath, laundry and floors to their brief.
The design is everything we have always wanted. We were thrilled with the whole design process it was timely, professional and above all, easy.
We did not make one change to the design. I am usually very ambivalent when choosing anything let alone a whole house design but I couldn't believe how bang on brief the Birdblack team were.
