Established in 2001 by husband and wife team Stephen and Diane Grech, The Church on Palmer has grown to be leading a Mackay restaurant known for its intimate setting for wedding receptions, events and conferences. Food was great. Good size for the price. Cocktails were also good.
Rang and booked a table had to wait to be seated for 5 minutes and was just whatever table was vacant no reserve signs or option of sitting outside.
They don't bring you the check when you are done which is a little disappointing for a higher end restaurant.
Overall experience good.

Don’t judge the book by the cover. Although the place doesn’t look very fancy from the outside, the inside dining areas have some antique feel to it. The service was excellent with friendly and attentive staff. Food was absolutely amazing and delicious, just the right portion size for each dish. The friend banana dessert was above and beyond my expectation, thin & crispy spring roll pastry with warm banana on the inside and that butterscotch sauce was beyond words could describe… everything just simply melts in the mouth especially with the ice cream and cream. Definitely one of the best

OMG What experience the staff the menu the food the ladies. Couldn't do anything more so friendly beautiful and so welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing and so tender. Service is spotty. Interior needs a clean. Entrees were great but had to ask 3 people for a bottle of wine. Mains were fine, waitress served the last of the wine and disappeared. Water was never offered. Desserts were woeful. Make your own ice cream or buy decent stuff. Staff argued with us when we gave feedback about the very poor desserts. This place used to be 5 star... only gave 3 cos the entrees were perfect. Maybe try being welcoming and hospitable instead of argumentative and neglectful. If you ask a question, take the answer on board, don't try and blame us for your poor product. Flourless

Lovely place to have dinner. Food taste amazing. In the menu everything looks like variety of non vegetarian options, but they do have. I had some great gnocchi. The variety of textures in the same plate was impressive. I would give five stars for the best gnocchi I've ever had. But, must also say the service could be a little slow sometimes, there were a couple's of moments where we were just waiting.. to get the food menu, to have the plates removed from the table and to pay for example. Also the dessert, a cheesecake, was nice but not amazing from my point of view. After a five starts pasta
