A family owned business since 1975, Ernst has worked professionally in Sydney as the owner of his own gold & silversmithing business and private school. A strong alliance was formed in 1989 when Sharon and Ernst Pfenninger's business partnership began.
From 2003 until the present Ernst's individual bespoke creative variety of work is on permanent display at their own boutique gallery style shop 'Studio 303' at 303 Parramatta Road, Leichhardt, the bridal hub of Sydney.

Tuition : beginners through to advanced & professionals; private school, 9 students per class, teaching Tuesday night and Wednesday day only, 4 terms per year duration 10 weeks per term. We had a great experience working with Ernst and Sharon on the design and crafting of a unique yellow-diamond and ebony ring.
Ernst Pfenninger is a creative, high quality jeweller, goldsmith and silversmith. We had many pieces individually made over a number of years and were excited every time we saw the finished article. People often noticed and commented on my wife's jewellery as it was original and superbly crafted. I recommend Ernst to the discerning.

When you are completely happy with the design, Ernst will personally handcraft the superb creation for you, bringing together his professionalism, passion, and a real and true understanding of your wishes.
We work closely with our customers to design awards and trophies that fully meet their requirements and truly reflect the importance of the occasion and event. The giving and receiving of an award or trophy is recognition of an individual, group or organisation's contribution and success, a highly valued achievement and reward.

I wanted some jewellery given to me my mother re set in a dress ring. Ernst had a huge photo catalogue of rings he had made over 50 years to help choose a design I liked that could be adapted to my own personal taste. The extend of his experience in jewellery design made me feel very confident straight away that the ring would be very professionally designed and made.

Sharon and Ernst helped me to create a ceremonial mace based on my design from start to finish. This would normally be a daunting process. It's a rather large outlay, and you just don't know whether what you had in mind will eventuate to what will end up in your hands. Sharon and Ernst were fantastic to deal with. They talked through the entire design and provided assistance with what can be done. Their experience with crafting custom pieces large or small is very clear. Nothing was too hard, and they were able to ship the final product interstate.

I decided that for my 21st birthday I wanted a ring, nothing fancy, but something that had some weight to it, something that I could pass on. After a few session chatting with Ernst and Sharon in the studio we came up with a design that I was happy with. A ring that had a style and design that I couldn't find anywhere else. Despite COVID-19 setbacks Ernst and Sharon when to great lengths to fabricate the ring just in time for my birthday. My fiancée and I truly had the most amazing experience working with Ernst and Sharon, and we couldn't recommend them highly enough. We had both of our wedding rings made at Studio 303 - not only is Ernst an incredibly talented designer and master craftsman, we always had the most warm welcome and great chats when we were there. You cannot go wrong working with Ernst and Sharon - their work is of the highest quality and is simply beautiful...and they really are just the most lovely people to help you create something special. My daughter recently attended a 10 week evening course at Studio 303 in Sydney. She learnt some great skills with Ernst which provided her with the knowledge, confidence and ability to complete her jewellery for her HSC Design & Technology major works independently. Ernst is very experienced and was able to explain steps in a clearly making it easy for her to learn and progress efficiently. My daughter is very grateful to both Ernst and Sharon for their care and support during the course. Thank you Studio 303!

Studio 303 is a great place to learn how to make interesting and creative jewellery with Ernst, a renowned master metalsmith and Lucas, a highly awarded brilliant jeweller. There is so much to learn and it’s so nice to be able to learn at your own pace, create your own designs with the support and expertise of Ernst and Lucas. With Sharon and Ernst, the fully functional workshop is also full of wonderful and friendly students, making it a very comfortable learning and fun environment. My husband got me my 30th birthday gift from there. It was designed from scratch and we could choose every little details and stones. Ernst and Sharon are the nicest people and Ernst is great at explaining all the differences and the steps involved in creating your jewellery. I had a good idea of what I wanted in terms of concept but was lost in terms of how it could be done. The result is amazing and I love my ring. Very good value for money too compared to big jewellery franchise as you get high quality and pay what's fair. I would definitely recommend!

Ernst and Sharon worked with my husband and myself to create both my engagement ring - a unique piece which I was able to help design created around a black pearl - and our wedding bands. The design for the engagement and wedding rings was not straightforward, and Ernst was endlessly patient as we worked and reworked the design and the fit until it was just right. We are both really happy with the outcome and feel our rings really reflect our personalities. The whole process was really personal which was just what i was looking for.
