Now imagine a little town called Dogwood. Dogwood tree - the floral emblem of the state of North Carolina. It's a nod to some friends who became family, but also a raised glass to family and friends who know that sharing great food and drinks with those you love is about as good as it gets. We wanted to create a diner you could imagine at the heart of the tight-knit community in a town like Dogwood.

INCREDIBLE!! this is the best service and food experience i’ve had in Bathurst. respectful and amazingly helpful staff, even customised cocktails for us just by guessing our preferences! nailed it! bordering on magic. all staff wore masks and thanked us for wearing ours and signing in, which is much better than complacent staff who don’t seem to care about public health at all.
i cannot recommend this place enough. it is a fantastic experience with delicious drinks, awesome food, and exceptional staff!

We attended a work Xmas party on Saturday 11th, upon arrival I walked straight in to the bar to await the rest of the attendees to arrive. The owner asked me 'do I have a mask', in a very rude manor. I replied and said no I was sorry as I'd forgotten my mask, and I proceeded to ask for a drink. He gave me a mask free of charge, and said he was… too busy to grab me a drink and in an aggressive manner told me to put on my mask. I then said I have just realised that I forgot to sign in and I will go back and do that. He then said well where have been for the last 4 years! I then apologised

We visited last night for a special night out and both had the New York Strip Porterhouse. It was amazing! Best steak I've ever had, really tender and the flavour of the rub was fantastic. To top it off my husband said the onion rings were out of this world good and he's sampled a few. We will definitely be back. Not only is their food amazing quality, but so are their staff, everyone was friendly and helpful and upbeat. We will definitely be back!

On arrival was told no prams aloud in restaurant, in result my 6month old baby fell out of her capsule from the chair onto the floor. When the owner was confronted about my concerns his reply was ‘if the baby fell on the floor it’s your own F**KING fault.” I have never come across such a rude person. Would not recommend.

The staff offer AMAZING service.
The shoe string fries with Paprika and tomatoe and honey mustard sauce sides were fantastic!
My only regret is not ordering more fish tacos with hot sauce, the fish and the filing was so fresh and on the table so fast!
It will certainly be a place for good when visiting the area next.

We had an outstanding experience here at Dogwood. Not only do they boast one of the best prime ribs I’ve had (either here in Australia or North America!) their desserts were well worth the removal of a belt. If that wasn’t enough we were absolutely blown away by Evan’s hospitality. Not only was he charming and attentive throughout the meal, he exhibited extraordinary diligence with my son’s (many) allergies. I can’t recommend this place enough, as I watched him and his team work the dining room I can really see they pride themselves on customer service and enjoyment.

The waiters were delightful to speak to. The service was fast and the food was of great quality. Try the steaks! They have good portions and the seasoning was handpicked. They explained the cocktail and they know what they are talking about. I give them 5 stars and rarely do I do this but one waitress was so helpful & chatted with us, and that made us feel like home. Keep up the good work!

This place had the nicest, most attentive service. We were made to feel like a priority from the moment we entered the door, and that continued until we left.
Seated with a complimentary bowl of popcorn.
The staff remembered every person's entire order from starter without writing it down, so that was impressive.
The food and mocktail/spiders for the kids, were equally interesting and flavourful.
Husband cannot fault the quality, texture and flavour of his rump plate.
And my kids decided to have the mac daddy dish each so they thought it was the bees knees.

Heard this place was Texas BBQ, do had to try it out. It's not Texas BBQ. But it is North Carolina Southern food which is nice and not something I've seen in Australia. The burger was good and my first time eating a black bun burger. The chowder didn't have the white look I'm use to, but it tasted good. Will have to try again as the service was great and they've got Dr. Pepper. Wished they had more BBQ on the menu and Big Red soda, but looking forward to trying the ribs.
