Bayside Hapkido
Hapkido is the art and science of self defence. It combines a powerful arsenal of kicks and punches, with thrusts, sweeps and a combination of hard and soft hand techniques. Throws and wrist and joint locks are also a feature of Hapkido. Hapkido is based on three principles and through the knowledge of these, an opponents force can be used against them.

This makes Hapkido truly a form of Self Defence that everyone can use. We also offer full time training, private lessons, instructor courses, as well as special seminars to improve and expand your knowledge. We regularly hold seminars with international guest instructors as well as holding international training trips.
Services
Nathan has been training in Hapkido since 1999 and has been teaching since 2002. One of his passions is seeing the growth in all students and the energy and effort everyone puts in. Working closely with the local community, he also runs a business based on Martial Arts Principles for corporates.

Black Belt Business helps Business Owners earn their black belt in business and Resolution Education works closely with employees to keep them safe in the workplace.Nathan knows how to get the most of each student, is tough and fair and emphasises that fitness is the key not just to Martial Arts but life in general.
In our Sparrows classes children will learn the basics of self-defence in a fun, age-appropriate, and non-threatening way. Weekly classes will teach your children how to find and use their voices, identify 'safe' adults, recognise hazards, defend themselves, and stay safe in their environment. Lessons will be filled with fun and challenging activities to develop coordination, balance, strength, speed, agility, self-confidence and assertiveness.
Grand Master Booth has formulated the Adults Syllabus on Concepts. Like building a house, the concept syllabus is building a foundation with every belt adding to each of the foundations. Every student learns, kicking, striking, joint locking, pressure points, falling and multiple opponent techniques.

I've trained here for years, great community, fantastic instructors, and practical self-defence yet a traditional martial art.

I've been a member of Bayside Hapkido for years. Excellent for fitness, learning self defence and marital arts. Instructors are exceptional, passionate and informative. Great energy - it really is almost a 'family'. I would thoroughly recommend for individuals and families alike.

I have been to a number of classes with bayside hapkido and then have seen both my older sister and her boyfriend test and become black belts. Bayside Hapkido has a strong association with Hapkido Australia and the Grand Master (of the Hapkido Association) comes from Sydney and sometimes provides seminars.
Sir Nathan does wonders with the school and you can see the hard work he puts into the dojo from the passion that the students have. As for the students, they welcome newcomers which is lovely.

My 3 kids thoroughly enjoy doing Hapkido. They are learning how to defend themselves from school bullies to everyday life which is such an important skill for young kids to learn. As a mum I love how Nathan teaches the kids making it fun and challenging - best of all discipline, respect.
