I have been practicing Acupuncture and Chinese medicine since 1997. I graduated from the 'Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine' (CCAOM) in Victoria, B.C, Canada in 1997.
I was first registered in 2000 with the newly founded regulatory board 'College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists of British Columbia, Canada' (CTCMA) which was one of the first government approved 'regulatory boards' that regulate, control and uphold very high standards for acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioners in North America.

An introduction to understanding the principles of Acupuncture including a brief description of the key functions of the muscles and vertebrae and how they affect your mobility and generate pain. What is a Motor Point? A motor point is defined as an area that is highly excitable. A motor point lies in the skin over the zone of innervation where the motor nerve branch enters the muscle tissue.
You may feel a dull localized ache and may feel a referral of a dull achy sensation along the common referral path of the affected muscle. This is an excellent response! When needling the motor point the patient may feel a 'twitch' response which is excellent. This is the motor point relaxing or the trigger point releasing and alleviating pressure on the nerves.
