Services
Exposed aggregate concrete is the perfect compliment to a new or existing home, office, driveway or outdoor area. It's hard wearing and looks amazing. Our customers use it for external areals like driveways, paths and pool surrounds. Also, you know polished concrete (you've probably seen it on TV shows like The Block recently), it's actually exposed aggregate that has been polished down to a shiny finish - a service we also offer.
Find you perfect exposed aggregate concrete colour chart below, or bring us a photo, and we'll make a blend that matches. Our aggregate is made of the highest quality stones and pebbles sourced from all over Australia. It's due to our long standing in the concrete industry that we have access to the quarries, and therefore the pebbles and stones, that most concreters do not.
No, the process to achieve an even and flawless finish is quite complex and we recommend that you use one of our experienced preferred contractors. We recommend the use of Prime Exposure surface retarder. We offer a free service to come and spray the retarder on the concrete surface at the appropriate time in the curing process.
Designer Pre Mix is the only concrete supply company that is environmentally focused and offers an exposed aggregate clean and capture system. Traditionally in exposed aggregate, the process to expose the aggregate in the concrete involves high pressure cleaning the top layer of the concrete that has had a surface retarder sprayed onto the surface.
Choosing the right aggregate for your new driveway can be a very tedious task. Endless searching through magazines to get an idea, sample sourcing and trips to the various suppliers. With so much variation and choice in aggregate colour, coming to a final decision will take time. We suggest that firstly you speak to your architect and try get your hands on a rendered drawing with the final external colour of your house.
