I'd initially reviewed Bonville as 4 stars a while back. This was mainly due to their operational setup where it seems the golf course is managed semi-independantly from the restaurant and accomodation. And while I do think the accomodation could do with a refresh, I'd be lying to myself if I didn't give the course 5 stars.
I'd give the course 6 stars if I could. It's just breathtaking. It is by far and away my favourite course in Australia. Yes I have played them all in the sandbelt. Played each of the Sydney big 4 many times. Barnbougle and Lost Farm? Yes those too. King Island? Done.

Been coming here since 2013. My favourite stay n play. Well, maybe not. Changed all the packages. No flexibility to cater for the customer. More expensive and less choice, Can't just pay for just a room you have to pay for breakfast and 3 course dinner as well don't get me wrong the food is usually awesome but 3 courses every night. 🐷 Has it been bought by China? 😁

Played here recently during the morning. Do not play here during Autumn or Winter. Bermuda grass greens are yellow and need fertilising to green up. Not impressive to look at. Alot of shaded areas on course where its obviously difficult to grow grass. Grass on tees were sub standard and fairways are damp throughout the day and not grassed that well on a majority of holes which is not conducive to hit irons off. For a $160 experience I would go elsewhere. This is supposed to be one of the pinnacle golf courses in Australia. Its condition does not match the quality expected. The gardens and presentation

Golf course is beautiful but the rooms are overpriced and the lodging is as a Holiday Park style. Beautiful restaurant and grounds. This place does well because no other online booking near by available ,but actually there is plenty of much better and more accommodating lodging available all around . Not recommended for the leisure traveler unless you golf . If your not golfing ,the rooms are inferior for the pricing. The room photo i see posted by another traveler must be the best they have , i paid over $200 au. for no couch and parking lot view. Can not recommend this facility for lodging, but

Only one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever seen.
Stunning, jaw dropping..... if Augusta is the 'Cathedral in the Pines' then Bonville is the 'Cathedral in the Blackbutt, Ironbark and Tallowoods'.
Won 'Most Beautiful Course in Bonville' 14 times in a row! It also won most beautiful course in Australia a few times. It hasn't yet won most beautiful course in the world yet but there's still time.
Go - it is a bit exxy, but its worth it, trust me.

On a road trip and decided to stop here for the night. While I was driving Corey called at 6pm to make a reservation for the night. The lady that picked up the phone and told us front desk was already closed. I was like that is odd... I asked Corey are they still showing on booking.com for 1 night he said yes. Being from the industry I knew that could not be right as if they don't accept reservations you would have set yourself to 'closed to arrival'. So Corey called back to ask if we could book online and there be a way to collect the keys. Same lady goes yes that works. Bit perplexed
