Environmental impact assessments including environmental management plans for new or existing developments. Outlining steps to evaluate and mitigate these impacts as part of the eco-mapping process. Eco-mapping is an environmental management system for smaller businesses. Primary industry independent third party auditing of shellfish and fish processing plants.
Ecological (green): encompassing the traditional environmental aspects of developments and operatons, our area of focus is on the waste management or brown end of environmental management, as compared with the green or more ecological end of environmental management. Economic (blue): based on triple bottom line thinking and full life-cycle costs, not just short-term financial aspects.
The Sustainable Learning Centre at Mt Nelson, a suburb of Hobart Tasmania, is serviced by an aerated waste water treatment system designed by SEAM. The treated waste water is used to flush the facility's toilets, and excess water is used to sub-surface irrigate garden beds around the centre. The treatment system is used as a demonstration to educate students aout re-using waste water.
