My name is Megan Dent, a professional Makeup Artist from sunny Brisbane. As a Mum of two boys, my days are spent juggling kids, sport and business. All while trying to look put together myself. I often joke with clients when they arrive at my in-home studio, that it's my own room of "girlyness" in a house full of boys.
And like any artform, makeup is a skill that you can learn - no matter what stage of life you're at. If you've ever had your makeup done by a professional makeup artist, you would have seen all the different techniques they used. It's more than merely slapping on some war paint and hoping for the best!
Most of us have attended an event where we glammed right up with the help of a professional makeup artist - weddings, award nights, big parties, graduations and so on. You feel like a million dollars. Your makeup is done perfectly, and you receive compliments from everyone - 'Oh, you look gorgeous'.
There are some days when popping on some lipgloss and mascara, and throwing your hair up in a messy bun are enough. There are others where you want to look like a supermodel and turn heads. But one things for sure, makeup is always going to boost your mood no matter how much or little you're wearing.
Ask any woman and she'll tell you that one of the most important days in her life was the day she got married. Not only was she making a commitment, but it was a day that had taken months of planning! You'll find a dress that you love (they say you know as soon as you put it on) and the shoes that match.

Thank you Megan, it was a pleasure to learn with you as you patiently guided and supported me with so much care during my eye makeup lesson; I loved how my eyes were accentuated. The black eye shadow eyeliner trick and the magic of the brushes were standouts for me. I'm so glad I bought the brushes and products so that I can keep practising. I highly recommend Megan.

Megan is an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to make up. I have never 'learnt' how to apply makeup and choose the right colours for myself. I decided to book a private lesson with Megan, and as a 38 year old woman it is truly one of the BEST things I could have done for myself.
Megan is knowledgeable and can explain things in such a simple way that I walked away from my lesson confident that I could recreate both an everyday and 'special occasion' look by myself, whenever I needed. No need to book in to have my makeup by someone else on those special occasions!

Amazing online makeup course! The content was professionally organized and informative. Megan has a very pleasing way of teaching. Found the videos to be exactly what was needed to complete both a daytime and evening look. The pdf’s provided with the course have all the information needed on what to buy and how to apply. I love to learn and this is one of my favorite courses.

After losing a chunk of money through covid wedding postponements and not being able to find affordable cruelty free MUA's that I liked, I decided to do my own wedding makeup. I had a one on one private makeup lesson with Megan so that I could do my own makeup for my elopement which was on an island. I had no confidence with makeup, had no idea what products to use and felt I looked older. After the lesson I left feeling confident and excited about makeup for the first time in my life. I absolutely loved the step by step guide Megan delivered and the very to easy understand tutoring. I recently did a makeup lesson with Megan as my makeup skills were very basic! I left the lesson feeling confident in my new abilities and have been able to take the skills I learned and apply these each day! Megan is so lovely and made sure I did not feel overwhelmed with each technique!

A wonderful experience to have makeup done for a formal. We wanted a natural look, but also special. At the trial, Megan really listened and showed us ideas to achieve the look we wanted - she hit the mark perfectly . On the day, we arrived frazzled and upset due to a poor hair stylist experience. Megan was so lovely, making us feel better with her understanding and friendly nature - she not only provides top quality makeup, she really cares about making her clients feel confident and special.
