Developing the ability to express ourselves is an important part of growing up. Being social creatures living in structured communities, we humans need to be able to ask for what we want, to tell others what we don't like, to seek help, and to express ideas. It can be quite concerning when your child isn't speaking at the same level as other kids their age.
But a variety of causes, including learning difficulties, attention deficits and some disabilities, make it hard for kids and adults alike to express themselves verbally. They might not even speak at all. This can lead to frustration and social isolation - after all, we all need to communicate to connect and feel understood.
Believe it or not, the process of turning language into speech is actually a pretty complex thing to do. Our brain, lips, tongue, and mouth all do a sophisticated dance every time we talk. So it's no surprise that when children are learning to speak, they'll sometimes mispronounce words. It can be hard for little lips and mouths to make complex sounds!

I have been using SpeechEase with Kate Thompson and the team for about a year. In that year my child has responded well from the therapy given. I find the therapy is very affordable and that the staff who work there go the extra mile to accommodate our needs. I feel that they are invested in my child and their progress and make the effort to work with me on our goals. I would highly recommend SpeechEase to any parent or person needing therapy assistance. 5 Stars from me! Thank you to Kate, Amelia and Troy.
