At The Smiling Orthodontist, we love a great smile. That's why we aim to provide you with an exceptional experience, from the very first consultation until well after the braces are removed. Ceramic or 'clear' braces blend in with your teeth and are less visible than traditional braces. Popular with adults and older teenagers. It's never too late to have straight teeth. More adults have started getting orthodontic treatment to address crooked front teeth or deep bite.

Maintaining good oral hygiene throughout your orthodontic journey is important. Poor oral hygiene can lead to decalcification (weakening of the enamel) and eventually lead to cavities. I recommend brushing at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste and limiting soft drinks and other foods that are high in sugar.
It is a complex process whereby bone on one side of the tooth is broken down and bone on the other side of the tooth is formed. The good news is that there are ways in which to speed up this biological process. The bad news is that it involves invasive surgery whereby small holes are placed into the jaw bone.
Metal braces are the workhorse of every orthodontist. The design of metal braces have improved over the years and they have become slim and sleek. They also have a proven track record and are reliable and predictable. Made from medical grade stainless steel, they allow the teeth to glide easily along the wire and are simple to remove at the end of treatment.
