We hadn't been to the Crown in years so we thought we'd pop in to try a quick drink and a meal. It was a very pleasant experience. It's a large and very nice, open plan pub. They had thee televisions on for the football matches that day while we were in which was great for our son and not too loud for everyone else who wasn't interested. The menu is large and varied. The food arrived quickly and the portions were good. I tried the mega burger, which had so much in it, it had to be held together with a knife skewereing the centre. Possibly based on a Scooby Doo towering burger design. We all agreed

I've been coming here for a couple of months to get outside and read a book in peace on my days off and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The customers are friendly too. The food is brilliant for the low price, I've tried a few things on the menu and it's always good. I brought my mother here today to have a meal and she loved it. This is going to be my regular spot now. Definitely recommended to families and dog owners aswel

It's been a lot of years since I was last in this bar, can't remember what it used to be like but it is very spacious inside now. Very well decorated inside with a good sized bar. Staff were on the ball, happy and cheerful. Some tables outside and a large car park behind.

Called in for lunch as hadn't been here since before covid hit.
It's still a nice place but on this occasion the food was below par.
We both went for the steak and ale pie which was very bland. The pastry was very soft so may have been heated up in the microwave oven. Chips were a bit on the mean side. Could have done with a few more as the plate looked pretty empty. Peas were hard. The gravy was nice though.
It's a shame because we've had nice meals here in the past.
We won't let this put us off going again.
