Services
Our vision is to help children reach their potential by providing families with the highest quality speech pathology services. We are passionate about our profession and strive to provide the highest possible level of care to each individual child. Our assessment, diagnosis and treatment are carefully planned around individual needs, and are based on the best available research evidence.
The first step in the Speech Pathology process is the assessment appointment. At this appointment the speech pathologist will collect information about your child's communication, from you, through observing your child at play, and by administering a series of tests. The assessment appointment takes between 1 and 1 hours, depending on the age of your child.
Noosa District Speech Pathology specialise in assessing and treating children with reading and spelling (literacy) difficulties. Our assessment enables us to pinpoint exactly where your child's reading and spelling is breaking down. Phonological awareness is a vital part of early reading success - research shows that phonological awareness training improves children's reading and spelling skills (National Reading Panel 2000).
