By locking the torque converter we can prevent the constant hunting caused by locking and unlocking the converter.
It is important we still maintain the factory driveability of the vehicle and this is why we choose to only lock the converter above 80km/h automatically. I have a 2011 Prado 150 series with the D4D 3.0 litre diesel. I had a lock up transmission kit fitted several months ago which has been terrific towing my 2500 kg van. However power was always an issue under load. Richards undertook an ECU remap on my vehicle and it is downright amazing. Holds speed fully loaded like never before and averaging 2l/100km better fuel consumption whilst towing. Thanks so much. The extra torque has really made a difference.

Reached out to the guys at Richards Auto Electrical today regarding a lock up kit issue that I was experiencing. They hadn't installed it, but offered help that allowed me to troubleshoot the fault over the phone. I'm absolutely wrapped with the service they provided, when they could have easily wiped their hands of it.
This kind of customer service is becoming a rarity these days, and I believe should therefore be celebrated. Cheers gents.
