ACT Shotokan Karate is a Dojo of Shotokan Karate International Australia (SKIA). We practice traditional Japanese Karate (restricted contact), as passed down from Kanazawa Soke (10th Dan Founder of the Shotokan Karate International Federation). We are affiliated with the Australian Karate Federation (AKF) and the Australasian Federation of Traditional Karate and Kobudo (AFTK).
We train at the Belconnen Community Centre from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. We also have an advanced techniques session from 5pm to 7pm on Sundays, and we regularly participate in Multi-style Training with other ACT Karate clubs to exchange ideas. Sensei Mark Porreca is the Resident Instructor of the ACT Shotokan Karate Dojo.
