Pullar Cold Storage (Pullar's) is a family owned business located in Cobram Victoria, 3 hours north of Melbourne. The business was originally based at Ardmona after Philip Pullar's grandfather established an orchard in the 1880s. The family moved to Cobram in 1912 to take advantage of a better climate and irrigation water from the Murray.
The facility incorporates the latest materials handling and automation technologies, enabling stock to be delivered, dispatched and monitored in real time and with the highest level of safety. The facility boasts a large apron to handle bulk product. It has 23 rooms and a cold storage capacity of approximately 17,500 pallets (16,000 permanent Dexion racks and 1,500 temporary racks).
Bega's Strathmerton processing plant produces milk, cheese and rework, but has limited storage facilities and as such relies on other operations to provide that service. However, it is vital that Bega can access their produce quickly if needed, especially the rework material. Pullar Cold Storage proved to have just the solution Bega were looking for.
