Amherst Psychology
We offer evidence-based therapies to improve the wellbeing of children, adolescents and adults, including couples and families. Our experienced practitioners can help with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety and panic, grief and loss, addictions, pain management, parenting, trauma, autism, relationship distress and work related stress.
Services
When children and adolescents experience challenges or difficulties they may find it hard to regulate their emotions or communicate their thoughts and feelings. There may be changes in their behaviour, their relationships or their ability to manage their schooling. At Amherst Psychology, we work with children and adolescents at their developmental level.
Several of our practitioners offer couples counselling or relationship therapy. At Amherst Psychology, we believe that satisfaction within couple relationships plays a huge part in our individual sense of wellbeing. We realise it takes courage to be honest with ourselves and each other when things are not going well in a relationship.
You or your partner/spouse identifies as neurodiverse or has been formally diagnosed with Asperger's (an old diagnostic term but one that many prefer) or autism, and you are looking for a psychologist or coach who is skilled in working with neurodiverse couples. Congratulations on caring enough about yourself and your relationship to search online and seek support!
Juhi follows best practice clinical guidelines for adult autism assessment and if required, will compile a comprehensive report that addresses the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She can also consult with your GP or psychiatrist regarding the diagnostic assessment.

Perhaps you're not sure whether you need or would benefit from a comprehensive autism diagnostic assessment and you'd like to talk with Juhi about the appropriateness of an assessment. You can just book a pre-diagnostic assessment interview to help you decide.
We offer comprehensive learning and cognitive assessments for children and adults. These assessments provide valuable information for the individual, parents, teachers and caregivers regarding difficulties that may be impacting on the person's learning or development. A feedback session in which the comprehensive assessment report is provided and feedback about the assessment results is given to parents and children.

Would not recommend this practice. Dr Cindy is a great psychologist, however, the business itself is greedy.
On the day I received the 48hr reminder for my appointment, I went online to cancel my appointment and was not able to do so. After getting into contact with the practice, they advised me that there would be charge for the cancellation of that appointment, even after explaining my unpredictable work commitments this time of year as I am a health professional.
The clinic was not understanding at all and have charged me the cancellation of that appointment ($122.50). I have been a regular

Very unimpressed with this business. And that's all it is to them, a business. Over the course of 7 appointments they cancelled my sons appointment 5 times, once on the day of because the psych was sick which was very upsetting for him but I was understanding that it couldn't be helped, when I was sick with gastro and rang to reschedule they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee. Now he has to have a telehealth appointment, he's 8 and hates talking on the phone. Pure profiteering and double standards. Will not be continuing therapy with these robbers. Update- since posting this review they contacted
