My aim is to provide quality counselling by assisting people to in identify, understand, and learn to cope with difficulties in order to reduce associated distress. I provide evidence-based treatment, working in a collaborative manner, focussing on strengths and setting realistic goals, with the overall aim of developing a treatment plan that best suits individual needs.
I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and have over sixteen years' experience working as a clinical psychologist, with 10 of these working in major public teaching hospitals in both clinical and senior management roles. I have treated people both individually and in groups for a variety of problems including depression, anxiety, OCD, and addictive disorders.

Services
Many of these problems may be covered under GP Mental Health Treatment Plans. If you feel you would benefit from treatment discuss the prospect of preparing an appropriate plan and referral with your GP. If the treatment plan is appropriate, there will be a Medicare rebate of $124.50 per session. The rebate applies for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year.
The initial appointment will usually include a comprehensive assessment regarding the history of the presenting problem; it will also usually also involve taking your general family, work, and social history. I will collaborate with you to decide on your goals, assess your expectations, and plan possible ways to manage and improve your situation.
Professional Responsibility - All registered psychologists are required to abide by guidelines of ethical conduct as set by the NSW Psychology Council. Additionally, members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a governing body for professional psychologists, are required to comply with the APS Code of ethical conduct.
Consultations are typically 50 minutes long and the fee is $180 ($50.45 out-of-pocket after the $129.55 on-the-spot Medicare rebate is claimed). Bulk billing (no out of pocket expense) may be available if you are unemployed, on a pension, or struggling financially under an appropriate Mental Health Care Plan (see 'Rebates' Below).
In consultation with clients (and often their legal teams), I have a great deal of experience helping/motivating people to overcome difficulties that have led to criminal charges. I have worked extensively within the NSW Health system and private practice, in both clinical and senior management roles.
