Located near Latrobe, North West Tasmania, our landfill was constructed in 1995 to exacting environmental standards and to capitalise on the natural features of the former clay quarry site.
Dulverton Waste Management was established as a Joint Authority under the Local Government Act 1993 by the Central Coast, Devonport City, Kentish and Latrobe Councils. Our organisational setup, led by a skills-based Board of Directors, is committed to delivering outstanding governance, compliance and reporting performance across environmental, social and financial measures.
To improve environmental performance and risk management, DWM has developed a measurable and target-driven Environmental Management System, certified to Australian and New Zealand Standard ISO 14001-2004. The DWM landfill complies with two Environment Protection Notices issued by EPA Tasmania.
Under these Notices, the landfill is not permitted to accept certain types of controlled waste including medical, liquid, reactive chemicals and chemical containers.We participate in the annual National Pollution Inventory (Emissions Estimation for Solid Landfills).
