Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on how your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves and circulation work together to improve your health & well-being. Because all of the parts of the body are connected, an osteopath treats the whole body. By treating all the affected areas, you will have less pain, recover faster, and get on with the important things in life.
Osteopathy was founded as a discipline by Andrew Taylor Still, MD, DO, in 1874, in Kansas, USA. Still was born in 1828, the son of 'circuit-riding' Methodist minister, physician, farmer and millwright. He learnt much while following his father on his rounds as a minister-physician, and as an apprentice, although he also undertook some formal training in Kansas City, and was issued an MD by the state of Missouri.
Osteopathic principles are one of the defining aspects of the profession. A.T. Still, the founder of osteopathy, famously declared "Osteopathy is a philosophy". He held that there was no specific set of techniques that would always help with a certain condition or disease.
Understanding basic principles of anatomy, physiology, and chemistry as they pertain to health, growth and development, would naturally lead to appropriate choices of technique and treatment.Osteopaths are trained to regard each person as an individual, and as a whole. Generally, we try to make the human body easier to understand by breaking it down into parts: the nervous system, respiratory system, circulatory system etc.

I came to see Ned when I had shoulder and back pain and he provides comprehensive and holistic care. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a caring approach. Moreland Road Clinic has a warm and friendly vibe, and quite the selection of teas to choose from! I highly recommend Ned and am really happy to have found such a great osteo.

I was recommended by a friend to see Ned for some on going neck and back issues. As a mother of a toddler, I found Ned to be quite accommodating and understanding of my limitations. He was able to give me a program that worked in with my lifestyle and had greatly improved my symptoms. I found other Osteopaths to be too aggressive with their treatment however, Ned's treatment was very relaxing. Highly recommend you see him for excellent care.

I have been seeing Ned for 3 years after using an Osteopath for the best part of 10 years. Ned is a skillful, passionate and informed Osteo and after seeing my previous Osteo twice a month I have reduced my frequency under Ned to 5-6 times a year. I believe this is reflective of the effectiveness of Ned's practice and his commitment to long term improvement over treatment the symptoms - highly recommended.

I saw Ned for an injured back and long standing shoulder issue and was amazed at how much better I felt after the treatment. It was really beyond my expectations. I feel like I now have a much better understanding of what was going on in my body and how to make small changes to help avoid injuring it again in future. I am so glad I went here, the pain was really starting to get me down and it is so good to have some relief!

I have been seeing Ned for over a year now. He has helped me go from having a constantly swollen knee where I couldn't even walk for 10minutes, to having a strong and healthy knee and can now go for runs and live a normal active life. Ned is the best osteo I have ever seen and has totally changed my life. Highly recommend

I've been seeing Ned for osteopathic treatment for over a year. He is an excellent osteopath and I couldn't recommend him more highly. Ned has a talent for finding exactly the right spots that need treatment and does wonders for easing my muscle pain and tightness. Ned is also very friendly and good at putting patients at ease. He was originally recommended to me by my GP because his skills are highly regarded.

I have seen Ned a handful of times when I have been suffering from ongoing neck and shoulder problems. Ned is both extremely professional and knowledgeable in his field. Each time I leave feeling relaxed.

I highly recommend Moreland Rd Clinic. I have often recommended them to others who also always have great experiences.
