Since leaving local government in 2008, having been the Manager Land Use at Noosa Council since 2000, Shane worked for a local town planning consultancy on the Sunshine Coast as the Planning Appeals Specialist. This work primarily involved providing expert opinion in the Planning and Environment Court, the Land Court and the Queensland Development Tribunal, as well as providing higher order town planning advice for development proposals.
Effective town planning requires an intimate knowledge of the structure and procedures of local government as well as a sound understanding of development assessment and appeal processes. After many years as a senior officer in local government and working as a consultant, Shane Adamson is well versed in all these areas and specialises in providing higher order town planning advice and practical solutions.
Other clients include private developers, the development industry, submitters to development applications, including community groups and not for profit organisations such as schools as well as childcare centres. The firm also has a number of private developer clients and assists local government with general development application processing and the assessment of significant and often controversial development applications.
I have known Shane professionally for some 15 years. I regard him to be a professional and competent town planner who has had broad experience in development matters and court appearances as an expert witness. I know him to be careful and balanced in the formulation of advice and forceful in advancing his views while at all times mindful of retaining professional integrity in any matter he undertakes.
