Restaurant owner Scott Pickett wanted polished concrete render benchtops which were going to be featured on the show 'HOTPLATE'. In this gallery we have the Initial shots during the work in progress and final shots from the completed work as shown on the show. In the restaurant above the polished concrete render was on a benchtop.
Tara Institute | Buddhist Meditation Centre 3 Mavis Ave, East Brighton Budist Walls had to be built up from approx. 100mm to 130mm. This involved 5 to 6 applications of sand and cement over a period of a couple of weeks. The final application was then ready for a paint finish. Mouldings made out of lightweight concrete were then applied last after having been made and cured before final installation.
Job involved installation of stainless steel angles to all doors, windows and external corners and window seals. Four coat process was applied in terms of rendering. Final coat applied was Dulux Coventry course Acratex or Dulux Coventry with a sand finish Sand finish, colour chosen by owner. Sample of both Finishes were provided to the owner to help with making the right a choice.
All existing rough cast was pressure cleaned to remove dust for application of first coat of cement render. All front balcony was covered with plastic and drop sheets to prevent any staining of timber. All render where there were cracks were removed and these areas rendered with sand and cement. Second coat was applied as skim coat for primer and for the final coat of texture.
