Wimmera Hills Winery
We are open for winery & distillery tours, tastings & sales of our wine and gin selection, and we serve lunches too. Please ring ahead and book a time to ensure social distancing for our cellar door visitors. Father's day is just around the corner, so now is a great time to send your Dad a Dedication or two.

Our shiraz and chocolate gin is on special for August. Look at our online shop. And follow the posts on instagram and facebook to learn about all the steps we go through to make this beautiful gin. Made at Wimmera Hills Winery, by Mrs Baker's Still House. Our gazebo looks out over the vineyard. The structural timbers for the gazebo were hewn from tree that sadly had to be cleared to plant the vineyard.
Services
Three generations of our family work our vineyard and winery. Wimmera hills winery tempers the austerity of the renowned Pyrenees style with carefully handmade wine. Wine maker, Benjamin Baker, attentively nurtures each vintage mixing the best of traditional techniques with innovative ideas and technology.
We aim to choose the environmentally sustainable option in all production and management actions. If you rinse your bottles and return them to our winery we will sterilize and re-use them. We have calculated the carbon footprint of our 2007 vintage. In a nutshell: our wine is carbon neutral until we bottle it.
It was a fantastic effort, and we are proud of those who went, and the other brigade members who stayed to protect Elmhurst and district. While our Elmhurst tanker, and many neighbouring tankers were away on active duty, the Elmhurst Fire Brigade had to use private utes with farmers' pumps and hoses in the event of local fire.
Made with wine spirit and garden grown Glenpatrick botanicals, this gin has a rich floral and herbaceous tapestry. Triple sec is a very sweet orange-flavoured liqueur made from the dried peels of bitter and sweet oranges. We forage seasonal wild oranges in our valley at Glenpatrick and it is the main the flavour ingredient in this drink.
The vineyard at Wimmera Hills Winery has two blocks of shiraz grapes planted in 2001 and 2002. The vines are hand pruned and hand harvested. Minimal chemical sprays are used. All the wines are made on the farm by winemaker Benjamin Baker, a low intervention method of wine making. Styles of wine made include a dry rose, table shiraz, sparkling shiraz, and a fortified wine.

Make sure you take time to visit this winery/distillery. We spent several hours learning how the products were made and enjoyed a gorgeous platter with our tasting. Customer service was amazing and the whole experience was so detailed and enjoyable. Also merino wool products to buy which just topped off the whole day !

This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Pyrenees/Grampians. Jane and Ben are as welcoming as we have experienced in trips to countless wineries.
The wine is amazing and the gin is every bit as good. If you are heading to this region and are in anyway interestedin Shiraz, gin, or both, I simply cannot endorse the drive out to Wimmera Hills enough. Best set aside at least an hour too, you won't want to leave!

Highly recommended! This delightful cottage is for anyone looking for a "hidden treasure" getaway. The whole weekend was wonderful, from the thoughtful and environmentally friendly bathroom products, to the picturesque outlook from the balcony, and the most warm and welcoming hospitality.
Thank you to the Baker's for making our anniversary weekend so amazing!

Had a lovely day here, experiencing the peaceful countryside, the generous wine and gin tastings and a delicious lunch. Jane and Benjamin are welcome and interesting hosts who produce an incredible range of spirits and wine. Love the new Christmas Gin and the Tasmanian Pepperberry remains a favourite.

Wimmera Hills… It’s exactly one year ago we’ve been here and what a nice memories we have! You really feel like joining the family during the (very :p) generous tastings of their wines and spirits. And still you have your own comfortable little house with sufficient privacy and a wonderful view. In fact, it was so nice that we stayed an extra night and I proposed to my girlfriend somewhere upon “Wimmera hills”, drinking a bottle of their excellent homemade wine.
Thanks a lot for the unforgettable moments and hospitality, we hope you're all doing fine there!

My partner and I spent a restorative two nights at this lovely winery nestled in hills of the Victorian pyrenees. Jane and Ben made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The location was beautiful and well-positioned for exploring the local country. Highly recommend ! We will be back in the summer !

We stayed at Wimmera Hills in the self-contained cottage to explore the area. Although only two rooms the cottage fitted had a double bed and two singles. We enjoyed walks around the winery and up into Glenshee and Glenpatrick. A lovely area. Hosts Ben and Jane were very welcoming and the wine was lovely.
