I have done a little research and according to Robert Hendrickson in the Encyclopaedia of word and phrase origins, the term chesterfield is commonly applied to a sofa in honour of Philip Stanhope, the forth Earl of Chesterfield (1694-1773).However, Hendrickson points out that it is more likely that a latter Earl of Chesterfield invented them, which earl he does not know.

All our frames are made only from Australian-sourced from renewable, sustainable forest-farms. This also means zero formaldehyde is used in our frames (unlike many cheap imports).

Order on in a colour of your preference as a stand-alone feature piece or see what you can create with a pair and a suitable coffee table or ottoman.
Not content with a mere sitting chair design for the Duke of Edinburgh, we created an office-chair version as well. After all, the Duke is a busy man, and had plenty of work to attend to. You really have to sit in one of these to full appreciate how it feels. A few lawyers who have invested in these chairs may have told us they win more cases and tend to charge more when sitting in these chairs in their office.
Over the years we've often been asked to create unique and special once-of pieces for clients. This could be likened to an Artist doing commissioned work, or architecturally designed luxury homes. Maybe for you, this means a looong Chesterfield like the one we set a world record with for a commercial client in the Blue Mountains, or perhaps something simpler like a unique colour combination, or special-order leather or fabric.
With over 30 years of experience in the industry and being a manufacturer ourselves, we've seen hundreds of different leathers from around the world and are experts in choosing which leathers are suitable for which sofa. The products on this website seem amazing and that is why I chose them. But it has now been over 9 months waiting for a single chair. You can never get these people on the phone and if you do happen to get them, constant excuses is all you get. Was told it would be 3 or 4 months and I accepted that, but 9 months and nothing to show for it except… the loss of money from my account for the deposit is disappointing. I have completed an entire house renovation in the time it has taken to get this chair (or not get it). I hope I see it soon but I do not hold much hope.

Danial made me two White 2.5 Seater Sofas several years ago and everyone commented on how awesome they were. Had to sell them at one point before long term travel, but looking forward to getting some new ones soon!

I have been in the Furniture industry for many decades and many years in upmarket leather furniture before the cheap imports killed most Quality Australian Manufacturing, Then cheap consumers bought knock offs and complained about their poor choice. I have been to his business several times and always admired his Quality Traditional hand work and followed his ventures and business with admiration. Even not owing any of his work yet I hope to do this soon, I recommend anyone looking for the best quality value for money furniture to contact him....

As a Furniture Removalist we deliver quite a few of the Chesterfield House Lounges, Chairs, Footstools and re-upholstered items..
Delivering and old piece and then re-delivering the re-upholstered item to the customer is terrific.
The quality and workmanship from Chesterfield House is fantastic.
All the leather and fabric right down to the solid timber frame is A1 material.
No short cuts, no cheap material; just hard wearing A1 grade materials used.
Watching a persons face light up when we deliver is delightful.
And knowing we have delivered either a brand new hand made Aussie made piece
