The 4600 through 16000 Messner Pond Flow Pumps are powered by a Asynchronous motor. The rotor is encapsulated by a stainless steel "can". This means no seals are required to keep liquids from the motor coil. These pumps are reliable epoxy encapsulated units ideally suited to continuously powering your larger waterfalls or streams.
Marine X Pumps are powered by a Synchronous magnetic drive motor. The Messner Marine X pumps utilize heavier duty rubber mounted ceramic shaft and ceramic thrust washers. These pumps are reliable epoxy encapsulated units ideally suited to continuously powering a salt water aquarium. The pump has an inbuilt intake screen system.
