Dr Ken Robinson started the handy service because during his time as an emergency vet a lot of people used to ring asking for house calls. The reasons for this are many. Some people don't have transport. Your dog may be too heavy to lift into the car. There are those cats that seem to have a talent for disappearing on appointment day.
Some animals get car sick, are incontinent, too old and or too sick to be transported. The number one reason given by callers is that they want to avoid stressing their pet by making the trip in the car. My first four years in practice were in the country, so I did a lot of driving/flying and house calls.

House Calls by appointment. Please Call 08 8281 6400 to discuss. We do our best to arrive as scheduled but traffic conditions, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances will sometimes cause us to be late or need to reschedule. House calls are scheduled to be as geographically close as possible, which means that we may not be available to be in your area on a given day.

Ken is the vet on wheels, one of few Adelaide vets who will visit your ailing pet in the comfort of its own home.
In clinic consultations are charged at $69 whereas consultations by house call are set at $169.95. Your animal needs a SCRIPT before any medication can be dispensed. The law states that S4 drugs can only be dispensed to patients after they have been seen by the Vet. This is the law. There are no exceptions.

We have been using Dr Ken for a couple of years now and our 8 yr old staffy needed a tooth and a lump removed, it worked out he needed 7 rotten teeth removed so the surgery took longer than expected, so he had to stay in overnight, with no extra charge , but for care .Dr Ken & Mel both rang me a couple of times to keep me updated as they knew we were both stressed. Thankyou Ken, Mel & Kelly ,for taken care of our precious one, see you next time , highly recommend.

Dr Ken is fab with animals and amazingly good at people too (not all vets are this good!).
A quick diagnosis, thorough health review, lots of good questions. Exactly the service you should receive from someone caring for the special someone in your life.
Was initially concerned by the look of the building, however once you step inside it's everything that you need, including excellent service. A third follow up meeting just to be sure was very welcome too. Highly recommended... for animals and worries humans too ;) As Dr Ken says, 'Let's take a look...' 😁

Ken saved our cat. I called last minute before COB on Sat, was advised to still bring it in. Operation (some bad teeth infection) was done in half an hour after arrival. And after 2 days we got our small family member back, felling much better. It not just good service, and attitude but price was really lower, compared to a few offer ive got over the phone by other vets. Thank. Now i know, where to go if our cat in troubles 🐱

My dog gets so anxious going to the Vet and has required sedation at every Vet we have visited, until we met Ken. Ken has such an amazing way with animals! He is able to make my dog feel relaxed & even administer his jabs without sedation, or any restraint. Massai now get's excited about visiting the vet as he adores Ken. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

TL;DR Ok vet and does care but too busy if your pet needs to see someone regularly. Prepay for medical needs items are a pain since you have make up to 3 trips to the clinic.
I've recently decided to change vets because I felt a bit unwelcome at the clinic since my cat has been diagnosed with diabetes. I would like to say if my pet didn't need regular treatments and just a yearly check up appointment I would probably still use him. His prices are very good. I think he's quite good with regular treatment, but when I make an appointment to get my cats blood sugar level checkefhe's never there and
