Settlers Tavern, or 'The Tav' as it's affectionately referred to by locals, was built as a haven for Margaret River's emerging surf culture in the 1970's. Local legends now rub elbows with a widely eclectic mix of world class winemakers, winery crew, locals and their families and travellers from around the world. Rob and Karen Gough have owned and run Settlers for the past 14 years.

They thought that Margaret River was a very special place and have poured their passions for food, wine and music into the Tav, resulting in a swag of awards including AHA's Best Regional Casual Pub Dining 2018 (Hall of Fame), Gourmet Traveller's Best Wine List WA and Best Listing of WA Wines 2019, WA's Wine List of the Year and Best Listing of a Region's Wine 2018, Top 50 Places to Drink Wine Wineslinger Award 2019, Top 100 Bars Sunday Times, WA Awards of Excellence 2018/2019, Best Pub Restaurant Wine List (Hall of Fame) and Best Regional Hospitality Venue 2018/19 (Hall of Fame).

Settlers prides itself on using the best local seasonal ingredients available. We have strong relationships with local producers, ensuring our produce is the tastiest and freshest available. Sourcing fresh, WA sustainable seafood (including Southern Ocean oysters shucked to order and whole line caught fish) when available, South-West free range chicken and meat, Margaret River free range eggs and local olive oil.

Sit, sip and enjoy. Offering a large range of wines by the glass or bottle, from an extensive wine list featuring over 600 wines - one of the most legendary in the country. Events Report

Since 1977, Settlers Tavern has been the home to Margaret River's live music scene. A local, iconic south west venue, "The Tav" has been awarded APRA Music Awards Licencee of the Year (2018) and received Hall of Fame status at the Australian Hospitality Awards (WA) for 'Best Entertainment Venue' three years running (2013 - 15).

Absolutely love this tavern. Had there lamb ribs and as I have just had the gastric sleeve I asked them to do a half serve they did it and they were amazing. My wife had the chili mussels and she said they were amazing. Highly recommend a visit if you are on the area

From the minute we arrived at Settlers the Team were great. Food was very nice and the place ran like clockwork transitioning from Bistro to fun bar seamlessly. Looking forward to playing there again in a few month.

Thank you for a wonderful meal and great service! My kids want to sleep here so that they can have breakfast, lunch and dinner here...they have decided that since you don't have rooms they can seep on the… floor in the corner to achieve this but unfortunately they have grudgingly agreed to travel home tomorrow 😂 no greater compliment in my books!

Honestly they have the best staff, that was what made us go back two nights in a row. They were so helpful, and just made the meal so much more pleasurable. We observed a newer staff member being helped and trained and it was done is such a great way 👍 They seems to have a great culture.
The food was so great 👍

Nice venue, there was a concert this Sunday and was pretty good.
The meals were really tasty and very nice atmosphere in the lounge.

Honestly some of the best food we have ever had. Steak sandwich was fricken PERFECTION!!!! Honestly so tender. Staff are so lovely and polite and up for a laugh. Well done we were so impressed.

The staff we're amazingly friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, I had the special of SA Mussels and Panko Crumbed Prawns, my partner had Reef and Beef with prawns and calamari and my son a decent size kids macaroni bolongnase. Couldn't fault our experience.

Good feed super packed so understandable it took a while for meals to come out but plenty of beers on tap to keep you from drying out 😂. We had the steak sandwich, butter chicken and the chilli con carn. Steak sandwich was massive and struggled to get through it, Good feed if you're hungry would be a bit plain. (I added cheese and bacon) Butter chicken was good heaps of flavour the boys ate it all! Chilli con carn looked great but partner said it was a bit lacking on flavour. Over all good place.

We had the most incredible experience today at settlers. The atmosphere was beautiful, sat next to a warm wood fire place and had a glass of wine. The food was absolute perfection!!! I have not been so satisfied from a meal like that in the longest time. We had a parmy and a steak sandwich... basic meals right? Had them a million times at a million places... but not like this i don't know what made my steak sandwich taste like heaven but it truly was with bacon jam and added cheese, my gosh I can't praise it enough. Great coffee. Dog friendly. Some great vegan options. My only beef is the music is often not great. It seems they're always playing a playlist of cover versions of popular songs and not really ever doing the original justice! Am I being picky? Yes. But I'm a musician and aside from the music, it's a great little local hang.

Great selection of gluten free food. Really good coffee. A little pricey, but it's worth it for me. Can be very busy sometimes as it's only a small coffee shop on the main strip.
