Tahbilk Winery
Tahbilk has a long history of producing fine wines with the help of rich ferric-oxide/sandy loam soils and temperate climate. With over 150 years of winemaking experience you will find some absolute gems in the Tahbilk repertoire. We had an amazing time tasting red wine, white wine, sparkling wine - they were all delicious and I was hard-pressed to decide which one bottle I should bring home on the plane!

They were such lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Tahbilk is a carbon neutral winery. Recognised by previous generations we are ultimately farmers whose produce is affected by a changing climate. We need to do our part to ensure we are creating a sustainable legacy. The food and service was fantastic and we really enjoyed the peaceful view over the wetlands from the cafe deck.
Services
Established in 1860 Tahbilk is one of Australia's most beautiful and historic family owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), one of the nation's premium viticultural areas. The property comprises some 1,214 hectares of rich river flats with a frontage of 11 kms to the Goulburn River and 8 kms of permanent backwaters and creeks.
Step into a hidden oasis in Victoria where the natural landscape blends to complement a rich winemaking heritage. An easy day trip from Melbourne (90 minutes), Shepparton (40 minutes), Bendigo (60 minutes) - the list goes on! Established in 1860 and purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925, Tahbilk captures the hearts and minds of visitors to Nagambie as a beautiful and historic family owned winery whose timeless appearance opens the imagination.
When Eric Purbrick sent his first newsletter to the dedicated Tahbilk drinker in 1971, never in his wildest dreams did he imagine his legacy would continue on into the 21st century. We love our Wine Club Members and as far as we're concerned they're part of the family. Our wineclub is free to join and members attain a 10% discount off Tahbilk and Dalfarras wines plus access to new deals every month.

My partner and I popped in for some wine tasting and were lucky to have been greeted at the door by the lovely Lynn! She was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the land and all the wines.
We had so many laughs during our tasting. May have even got Lynn to snort with laughter....
We were humbled when she labled us the "funniest couple of the day"
Thanks for the fun arvo.

One of the best experiences we have ever had, booked the VIP tour with wine blending, honestly words can't describe how great the day was.
From your wine ambassador explaining in detail the history of the winery (actually very fascinating), then onto the wine blending where you customize red wine and have it professionally bottled with a label, then onto the lunch package eating in an amazing restaurant with 5 star food overlooking the river, to the boat ride on the river, and finally the wine sampling.
Seriously can't recommend Tahbilk highly enough, we will 100% return here.

This was our first visit to Tahbilk and we had an outstanding wine tasting and dining experience.. Our wine tasting was scheduled an hour prior to the lunch booking. We arrived on time and were given one of the outdoor tasting tables overlooking the Goulburn River. Lyn took us through a tasting of all the scheduled wines plus some extras reflecting our particular interests. There is a good range of wines. Lyn was very informative and helpful. We finished with just sufficient time to walk across to the restaurant. I particularly like the Museum Release Marsanne, the Marsanne blend and the Verdelho

Went there via river (Rent the tinnie boat from Nagambie Lake). Amazing winery with 5 generation of ownership and still going on. Wine tasting is free as long as you make the purchase. The price is moderate and the taste is great. Definitely will come back again.

Very friendly and informative tasting experience. And it's free. Which led us to purchase 15 bottles. Beautiful historic grounds and buildings. You are able to walk through the underground cellar.
A must to visit, if you are in the Nagambie region.

We did the ‘Art of Winemaking- Blending Course’ today. Absolutely fantastic personalised experience held in the beautiful original church/museum. Holly guided us through how to taste and identify BLIC (Balance, Length, Intensity, Complexity) and then we blended our own Shiraz Cabernet using Oaked and Un-Oaked combinations to land on the perfect blend. We then had a little fun judging session and bottled, capped and labelled our own bottles.
Holly was a sensational host and kept it light and fun but informative. An incredible experience and winery and enjoyed hearing about the history as much

A must visit when in the region. We enjoyed an excellent wine tasting before exploring the winery and grounds. A hot tip! Try to co-ordinate your visit with the Farmer's Market held on the winery grounds.
