Originally from Victoria's Western District, Chris started as an apprentice carpenter in 1989. After completing his apprenticeship, Chris worked as a subcontract carpenter to quality local builders before gaining his own builders registration in 1996. At this time, he formed Chris Cowley Builders, and began the journey of building and renovating homes in the Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula region.

I set out on my building journey knowing I wanted to create a healthy home that I would love while I raised my family there and the eventual resale value would make it all worthwhile.
We specialise in timeless traditional style homes, from classic beach styles to periods such as Colonial, Victorian, Federation, Edwardian etc. But we have the skills and capabilities to mix that up a bit with some fantastic contemporary and architectural projects! We actually find our extensions and renovations the most satisfying.
We are passionate in delivering quality built homes that will stand the test of time. Whether it's a state of the art, architecturally designed masterpiece, or a humble and modest, cost effective necessity, we have it all covered. I have always had a soft spot for more traditional designed homes. In my eyes, it is still possible to create a classic style home, yet meet the modern families requirements.

When I started out as an apprentice in 1989, small building projects were a big part of my skill development. Then when I became a registered builder, these kind of projects were my bread and butter until my building business grew to incorporate larger scale projects. But the smaller jobs are always an important part of our work.
