Dr Perera studied at St Thomas University in the UK, and has been a GP in Australia for over 20 years. In addition to operating his own General Practice, Dr Perera has been a surgical assistant to many Gold Coast surgeons including our plastic surgeon, Dr Craig Layt, assisting in theatre for the past 18 years.
Dr Lauren Melville has recently departed for a year abroad and will return in 2020. Dr Lauren, a General Practitioner experienced in aesthetic medicine, has recently joined the Gold Coast team at the Layt Clinic. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and completed the National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.

From the initial consultation to the last Dr Layt made the whole experience stress free, Dr Layts knowledge in his field made me feel extremely comfortable choosing him as my surgeon. I had PIP implants for over 12 yrs and I either needed a replace or just a removal, I met with Dr Layt to run through my options and I decided to go with the removal and fat grafting, with this decision Layt wanted to ensure I wasn't going in with high expectations of having the same volume and shape as an implant, he is a realist and explained that he will do his absolute best to produce amazing looking breasts but

I can honestly say I was in two minds is to what I want to get done and if I could trust someone to do it. I went to three other surgery’s in the Gold Coast! I am telling you know Craig was the best! Nothing was an issue. He was amazing and his staff are just as good! The whole way through I felt at ease and I can tell you know my result were 5,000 times better than I ever expected! I was literally back at work within three days which I explained I need to be and he made it work!

In fifteen years of using my TPI DVA Gold Card for health treatment matters this without doubt (including for prior plastic surgery) the worst experience I have had myself or seen.
Let me explain the facts of the experience.
Rang Dr Craig Layt office with a GP referral told DVA Gold card accepted, but needed to wait some nine weeks. Booking made.
After eight weeks called by a Dr Layt Clinic staff member and informed appointment cannot continue unless on private basis and only cash paid . Reason Dr Layt did not believe Government paid enough (so much for supporting Veterans), this was told to

I attended the Layt clinic to have my skin refreshed and feel more confident without wearing makeup. I had my first consultation with Kate, she was really honest and broke down what the best procedure would be to get the best result in the short two month time frame I had. Not only that, she is so caring, listens to your needs and is truly such a beautiful soul inside and out. It made it a wonderful experience from start to finish. The end results which had to be within the two month time frame have been exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier.

I had my breast lift and implant surgery with Dr Layt in 2013. 5 years later and i am extremely happy with my results. Dr Layt made me feel comfortable and i felt welcomed whenever i had to visit the clinic. I now regularly attend the clinic and see Stephanie for my facials, she does the most relaxing facials and my skin is so looking and feeling so much better since having regular facials. Highly recommend The Layt Clinic for both for surgical and non surgical treatments.

I saw a few Gold Coast plastic surgeons before settling on Dr Layt for my tummy tuck, breast lift and reduction.
He was the only one who didn’t try to talk me into crazy procedures that I didn’t really need and gave me reasonable expectations that I could have a good outcome. Dr Layt is extremely personable and easy to talk to with a great bedside manner.
My results have been fantastic. I am 3.5 months post op and so happy with the job he did. Wishing I’d got him to do the rest of my body now 😂
