J.J. Richards and Sons Pty Ltd (J.J. Richards) was established by Joseph John Richards, who won his first refuse and sanitary kerbside collection contract in Murwillumbah Shire in 1932. The company has come a long way since those days and today the company has operations throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania and New Zealand.

After finding this site I did not know that other customer has bad experience with JJ Richards. I cannot agree on anymore of what has been said about them. Getting you to sign is easy but getting out is hard especially with their one way contract and ridiculous price increase. My contract still got a few months to go but paying more than double the price that i first signed with them. The funny bit is they never get in touch with you until you want to terminate the contract then they want your business. They will automatically reduce price but you have to sign for another year. This company is a less ideal to deal with. They are not greatly responsive and often have long waits for call to be answered. The fees have increased by 90% since 2014 for the service, I reduced the service to fortnightly so they increased the pick up price. They have more than excessive late fees which in the context of the monthly fees are ridiculous.(a late fee that represents over 90% of the monthly fee) Initially they were good but are now not meeting my business' needs, I am now going elsewhere. This is space with lots of competitors, do not settle for this.

Worst service you can image. We have been with them for just 2 months and our rubbish is overflow. They said the bin is block but we did not even have any cars in the lot when they came. they then informed us that we need to pull the bin out to the open lane to make it more accessible to the driver coz their driver never get out of their truck or make any calls to us when they cannot reach the bin.
By the time they inform us, the bin is already overflow and too heavy to move. I showed the manager the issue and he promised to have the drive come picking up the rubbish next day.

I signed a 1 year contract with JJ Richards a year ago and just renewed my contract a few months ago. Three months into the new contract they have increased my price by 25% and decreased my bin weight 30%
i have showed them prices of other bin company as they are all still around my original price but they don't care. I showed them my agreement i first signed with my allowed weight and i get told i should i need the fine print in the new contract as the weight as dropped.
Now they are trying to charge me with OVERWEIGHT FEE, STORAGE FEE, CANCELLATION
