The business started out as a Cairns courier business as there was a need for a one-hour express courier run in the Cairns area. This part of the business took off in leaps and bounds so fast the Jaimelle Whittaker (John Petersen's partner) left her full time employment to work with John in mid 1996.
Another opportunity presented itself in 1998 and John started a run once a day to Port Douglas. This quickly became two runs a day in vans. Through this run into Port Douglas we noticed an opening for the niche marketing of a refrigerated truck to Port Douglas to service all the restaurants and resorts.

JP Xpress refrigerated transport covers the areas from Port Douglas/Mossman north of Cairns to Innisfail south of Cairns and the Tablelands, Atherton, Mareeba, Yungaburra and Malanda west of Cairns and everywhere in between. We are also able to offer our services to Townsville. Our delivering capacity ranges from an envelope up to palletised wet or dry products.
