Atura is based in Melbourne and operates across Australia and internationally. The risk assessment, risk management, consulting and scientific research work is led by Dr Daryl Stevens and undertaken by the team at Atura Pty Ltd. Atura is a consulting firm providing risk assessment and risk management services to ensure the protection and safety of the terrestrial environment and the environments they can impact.

This includes providing risk assessment and management strategies to ensure the protection and safety of humans, soils, and aquatic systems.

Dr Stevens has worked extensively (2005-2010) for the National Environmental Protection Council as Coordinator and Scientific Services for the Environmental Risk component of the Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling (Phase 1 - Sewage Water and Greywater and Phase 2 - Stormwater and Managed Aquifer Recharge).
Atura has consulted extensively, leading the development of state and national guidelines related to the use of solids and liquids in terrestrial systems. Atura has completed research, consultancies and training with a variety of clients at the state, national and international level.

Atura has extensive experience with a broad range of different projects; from updating the Victorian Guideline for water recycling to conducting the risk assessment for the use of stormwater at Melbourne Olympic Park and AAMI Stadium.Atura has contributed to an extensive list of publications and presentations in a broad range of water-related topics.
Atura provides professional consulting services to a range of clients, delivering high quality research outcomes and publication materials that meet with government standards and requirements relating to the needs of the individual projects.

Our risk assessment processes comply with Australian Standards for Risk Assessment Standards Australia 2004, International Standards Organisation (ISO) 31000:2009, the framework from Australian Guidelines for Recycling Water NRMMC and EPHC 2006, and relevant state guidelines for recycled water and biosolids.Risk assessments are carried out prior to onsite work to ensure Occupational Health and Safety standards are maintained.
