The Worm Shed is a family operated business dedicated to recycling with worms and providing education to help build a sustainable future. For more than 30 years, Kevin Smith has been working with worms after discovering their potential to recycle waste and create Castings (Worm Poo!), an 'organic fertiliser' that the plants just love.
As the interest in worms grew, The Worm Shed began supplying worms to stores, eventually having them stocked in over 100 outlets. Though we soon realised that the personal service and advice are instrumental in ensuring your worms thrive, so we decided to take a different approach with our worms.

I have had my farm operating for a while now, but it seems to be taking a long time to fill up with Castings?. Your worm farm must be set up in a cool, shady area, where it will not get any sun on it at all. A. If you are going away for a short length of time, just make sure the worm farm is in a cool place & has been watered well.
Worms can process approximately one third of their body weight in organic waste every 2 to 3 days. It is important to work on the combined weight of the worms rather than number of worms, as the amount of worms per kilogram can vary depending on the size and maturity of the worms. In large, well-established worm farms, worms can process citrus, onion, garlic, meat, and dairy.
This package includes the ideal quantity of worms, ensuring a substantial amount of your waste can be recycled. It is set up 2 to 3 months advanced, and is already producing premium quality Worm Wiz. Various local councils provide a subsidy to allow their residents and ratepayers to purchase the Advanced Set Up at a reduced cost.

I've received a couple of worm deliveries from The Worm Shed and at all stages had great service and communication. The quality of the worms are excellent, and put the commercially available worm boxes to shame. I highly recommend TWS to all; new or experienced worm farmers.
