Our Matilda Bay team believe there is something important about sharing food, and this is what unifies us driving our purpose daily. Owner and Managing Director, Warwick Lavis has owned Matilda Bay since 1984. Warwick is the inspirational force bringing to life Matilda Bays' sense of fine dining in a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere.
Matilda Bay Restaurant is located on the edge of Perth's beautiful Matilda Bay in Crawley. Not a day goes by when we're not wow'ed by the beauty of what's on our doorstep as we overlook Matilda Bay with Kings Park and Perth City as our vista. Our story is one of understanding the significance of food as a social experience.
Matilda Bay occupies a unique and significant place in the history of Perth, and Western Australia. Our restaurant is situated on Matilda Bay itself, and takes its name from the magnificent bay named after Matilda Roe, wife of John Septimus Roe, the first Surveyor of Western Australia. At that time, the restaurant was a classical restaurant serving French cuisine.
Plenty of venues offer good food, they say they have great service, they might even have convenient parking. But there's no other Perth venue offering the unique combination of experiences as we do at Matilda Bay Restaurant. There's water edge dining, the glistening lights of Perth reflecting across the bay and yachts dotted across the bay.
As a culture, we invest much into a wedding: big white gown, flowers, a ceremony, an after party, friends, family, gifts. Then there's the decision about the style of wedding: small, large, cocktail style, sit down. Is it going to be a religious wedding or a civil ceremony? We had a wonderful experience at Matilda Bay Restaurant. We hosted our Customer Christmas at Matilda bay and it exceeded my expectations. Sianne and team worked very hard to make sure our event ran smoothly and catered to all of our needs. The event space was absolutely beautiful over looking the river it was very peaceful. Would 100% recommend hosting an event here!

Finally got to Matilda's for a long leisurely lunch. And it was great. Windows flung open and a seat by the water. Watching the boats come and go against the backdrop of Perth town.
The Fremantle octopus was delicious and the pork fillet was tasty. Although I nearly ended up with a steak fillet as a result of a slightly inattentive waitress.
Mrs C had scallops, amazing, and a 10/10 gold band snapper. With a bottle of Tim Adams Pinot Gris is was the perfect day.

We had an amazing day here yesterday! We had birthday lunch and spend relaxing walking around the restaurant. Staffs were friendly and professional. The vibe was just stunning! Food was delicious! Drinks were great and cheap for all you can drink. We want to come back here for a special occasion again. Thank you so much for making our special day even more special.

We had a perfect seat by the window, both looking out into the water watching boats and kayaks come and go and dogs having a swim.
The staff were amazing, their recommendations were so much appreciated. The espresso Martini was perfect. Our food was the best we've had in Perth and we eat out a lot!
100% recommend, we cannot wait to come back, thank you for a beautiful evening.
