The J Noosa is a community, arts and entertainment hub. The upper mezzanine level offers an additional 64 seats. The auditorium is equipped with high quality sound and lighting equipment, as well as a full-size cinema screen. The venue also boasts a lounge and recreational areas, meeting and workshop spaces, and commercial catering facilities. The J has hosted some of the Sunshine Coast's most exciting events such as TEDx Noosa, Noosa Alive!, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and performances from Australian and international artists, comedians and theatre productions. The J Theatre is a versatile auditorium and theatre space for hire located right in the heart of Noosa, suitable for many different types of events including live theatre, music, dance, film, conventions, dinners and award nights. Can accommodate flat and tiered Theatre seating for 338 persons, 64 seats in additional mezzanine level (total theatre 402 seats capacity), Cabaret Seating for 200 persons, or standing room for 500 persons.
With its open plan design, overlooking The J Auditorium, and located in close proximity to the commercial kitchen, this is an ideal space for pre-show drinks and canaps, or smaller gatherings such as book launches, networking functions, and intimate performances. The J's Commercial Kitchen is available to hire in Noosa for sole use, or in conjunction with another space to allow for preparation of catering for an event or function at The J. The J does not have a resident caterer, however we can supply a list of recommended caterers in Noosa. To hire The J Commercial Kitchen, you must provide a current copy of your food licence upon application.
Since opening, The J has offered a combination of flexible meeting spaces, conference rooms and facilities for hire, complimented by covered outdoor desks and stylish open foyers. With our large auditorium space right in the heart of Noosa, The J has proven to be the ideal venue for a wide range of programming.

It's a good venue so long as you don't sit in the very front of the stage. The seats are set directly behind each other instead of staggering them like cinema seating, consequently it's impossible to see over the head of the person in front of you. A bit like attending a radio performance..... not good! However the tiered seating & the mezzanine levels are excellent viewing. Remember to take a small cushion as the seats are hard on your tushie.
