Farah is a passionate advocate for inclusion especially for people with disabilities. Farah is the lead author of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) Design Standard.

Farah contributes on a number of Boards and Management Committees in relation to accessibility for people with disabilities including being a member of the Australian Standards ME-064 Committee which is responsible for developing the Australian Standards related to Access for people with disabilities, Community Representative member of Penrith City Council's Access Committee, Director of LHA (Livable Housing Australia), member of RAIA's (Australian Institute of Architect's) National Access Work Group, Management Committee member of NSW Network of Access Consultants and member of NDIS SDA Reference Group.

Livable Housing Australia (LHA) is a not-for-profit organisation established to promote the benefits of Livable housing design to the residential design and construction industry. LHA is a partnership between industry, community and consumer groups and governments.

A Home designed under the Livable Housing Guidelines incorporates key features that aim to make a dwelling easier and safer to live in for all occupants including people with disability, ageing population, people with temporary injuries and families with young children.The Livable Housing Guidelines describe 15 living design elements.
Vista Access Architects have been the Access Consultants for numerous projects for SEPP SPWD. Some of our SEPP SPWD projects include, ARV Ponds Retirement Village, ARV Caddens Retirement Village for Anglican Retirement Villages, Parkes Retirement Village for Southern Cross Care, Richmond Retirement Village for Richmond RSL Life Care, Adventist Aged Care's site in Kings Langley. to name a few.
There is no "SDA Certification" process in place for the current guidelines, but Vista Access Architects can prepare a "Statement of Consistency" report based on the provided requirements of the Table 3 of the SDA Price Guide. Note at that this point of time a dwelling cannot be enrolled under multiple design categories.
Vista Access Architects were the Access Consultants for the latest additions to St Lucy's School which was designed by Stanton Dahl ArchitectsSt Lucy's School is for students with a wide range of disabilities including mild to severe intellectual dis.

Vista Access Architects are delighted to announce the completion of our very first Final-as-built Certification for an SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) HPS (High Physical Support) home in Avenell Heights QLD for our Client Liveable Home.
Suitable for building elements such as doorways, stair nosings, toilet seats and integrated TGSIs i.e. min 30% contrast. 125(Y2-Y1) / (Y1+Y2+25) where Y2 is the LRV of the lighter area and Y1 is the LRV of the darker area. The recommendations vary from 30% to 60% based on the element. Please refer to AS/NZ1428 suite of Australian Standards for details.
