Ethical Dental and Orthodontics aims to establish a precedent for ethically run, values-driven healthcare services in our community. We strive to provide a comfortable, supportive and professional environment that will allow our patients to receive the highest standard of oral healthcare and for our practice to remain a cornerstone of support for oral and general health initiatives in the Coffs Harbour region.
Our practice is built on generations of dental knowledge being passed down from Ian and Bill Nevell, to John and Theresa Nevell, and now to Sam and Kate. We truly care about what we do, the people we treat and the community in which we live. An incredibly enjoyable aspect of our practice at 166 Edinburgh Street is to look up and see yachts sailing past, waves rolling in and the occasional whale.

Services
At Ethical Dental and Orthodontics we think of our role in the Coffs Harbour community as more than a clinic run by tooth mechanics, we are partners in your family's oral health. We believe that providing oral healthcare is about more than fixing teeth, so we maintain a strong preventative and minimal intervention treatment philosophy.
We are keen to prevent health problems rather than treating them after it is too late. At our practice, we love taking the time to be comprehensive in our approach to your needs. For our regular patients, at examination appointments we aim to provide caring support and encouragement, friendly advice and the highest standard of preventative care.
Your smile can be one of your most important assets. It's at the centre of our laughter, our speech, and it's behind a lot of the happiness that we show to the world. At Ethical Dental, we think that all genuine smiles are beautiful, and nothing brings us greater happiness than sharing a beautiful smile with our patients.
When a tooth is missing, a dental implant provides a treatment option that can look natural and function a lot like your own tooth. An implant is not attached to the surrounding teeth, so it is easier to clean than a bridge. Unlike a denture, an implant doesn't come in and out of the mouth. It is fixed in place, and is constructed to look like a natural tooth.
Snoring, clenching and grinding can all have negative effects on your teeth. There are some common dental procedures we perform to reduce the possible harmful health effects. Snoring can often be a sign of impaired breathing and may even be associated with completely stopping breathing. This has serious potential health implications.

I cannot recommend and thank Ethical Dental enough, they literally changed my life for the better. I was extremely nervous to visit a dentist and embarrassed to smile but after a consultation with Sam i was reassured and a plan was put in place to bring back my confidence and smile. I would highly recommend the whole team at Ethical Dental. They make visiting the dentist a great experience!

I just got my braces off and I’m so happy with my teeth! Thank you so much I am so happy with my new smile! I was lucky enough to have Kate Amos as my Dentist at Ethical Dental and I can’t express how grateful I am for what she has done for me. My whole family loves you guys because after every visit I went home and raved about how calm and relaxing it was with Kate as my Dentist.

My whole experience of the Ethical Dental practice is one of authentic care. I feel welcomed on the phone, as I enter the clinic and during my treatment. Their warmth, confidence and professionalism shines throughout their words and actions. I recommend my family and friends to ED and now they are happy patients just like me.

I grew up with a fear of dentists and therefore did not like going to them. Add extremely sensitive teeth, and I can guarantee I really don’t want to go. I first came to Ethical Dental as I was desperate, in pain and needed some serious work attended. What made it even more challenging is I had just moved to Tasmania however Ethical Dental particularly Sam have been amazing in looking after me. My second visit I needed 6 needles and I can say I didn’t feel any of them. Ethical Dental use the most current practises which means that you get the best treatment and practises. The team at ethical Dental are very professional and friendly. My family have been going to Theresa and her husband John for three generations . I had braces and now my daughter is getting some as well , it makes her comfortable knowing that I went through the same experience at the same dentist. My husband didn’t like going to the dentist at all , but he really connected with Sam and it isn’t a hassle to get him to go now .
