Tips from Balhannah Nurseries to help you achieve the best results in planting and growing your ornamental and fruit trees. Successful fruit growing in the garden begins with careful site selection, preparation and correct tree planting. The tolerance of different tree species to these factors dictates where each species should be planted in the garden.
Once a suitable site has been chosen for your tree dig a hole at least twice the total size of the root system and carefully remove the packaging from the tree. Mound the soil slightly at the bottom of the hole. Lightly trim any damaged roots. Spread the tree roots evenly over the mound and if necessary, adjust the soil height by replacing some of the top soil so that the bud union remains above ground level.
A proportion of the root system is lost during the lifting process from the nursery bed. To compensate and restore balance between the top growth and the root system, pruning is essential. The limbs of your tree should be shortened back about half to two-thirds of their total length, cutting on an angle to an outside bud.

I brought one Californian Almond & 2 Plum tree from Glynde Mitre 10 all the 3 plants are PRODUCT OF Balhannah Nurseries the plants are not growing at all, still in winter dormancy not sure what the reason is, when I bought it from the store it head wood chip instead of compost in the roots, Balhannah Nursery would have saved around $3.00 worth of compost by replacing wood chip in the roots. BUT I HAVE LOST $120.00, NITHER GLYNDE MITRE 10 NOT BALHANNHA NURSERY HAS ANY ANSWER OR RESPONDING to my query.
