The fact that you have found your way to my website means you are looking for help and you want a better life for yourself. It takes courage to seek help from a psychotherapist. I'd like to encourage you on this journey and support you in taking the next step in order to work with me. If you are like many people who come to see me, you may relate to some of these scenarios:.
I feel as if there's something wrong with me, like I'm not good enough, no matter how hard I try. I avoid people. It's just easier to be on my own than to deal with the feelings that come up when there are people around me. Drinking helps me forget and not worry about these things, but it's hard to stop and I'm wasted afterwards.

My involvement with psychotherapy started with my own transformative experience many years ago. That journey allowed me to turn my life around and inspired me to want to offer others the same opportunity. Having gone through that process myself means I know what it feels like to open up to a therapist, face your fears and confront your difficulties.
I approach our therapy work together with respect, sensitivity and understanding. We all come to be who we are and deal with circumstances the way we do for a myriad of reasons. I offer you acceptance and a non-judgmental attitude. Whilst sometimes our 'old ways' no longer serve us well, the process of making changes requires a safe, patient and compassionate therapeutic approach.
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a non-invasive auditory intervention. It involves listening to a music program that has been processed specifically to help the nervous system feel safer, become more flexible and better regulated. I also offer it to people who are engaged in therapy with a Trauma Informed therapist and are interested in accessing a body-based intervention to complement and support the work they are doing in their therapy.
I am currently undergoing further training to become a Certified Practitioner of NeuroAffective Touch. This modality of work brings together elements of the many models that have informed my practice so far: somatic psychotherapy, attachment, and developmental theory, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and affective and interpersonal neurobiology.
Yes, the sessions are confidential. I am bound by the Code of Ethics of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). It is important that you arrive to the sessions on time, if you arrive late I will not be able to extend our session. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I require 24 hours notice or a full fee will be charged.
