Here at the Roma Veterinary Clinic we pride ourselves on our friendly and capable staff. We have a group that we feel are well rounded and each member brings to the table unique individual skills and passions, meaning that we are able to help all creatures great and small. We currently have a 9 vet team, with another 9 support staff to ensure that all of your animal health needs are met!
Pets, on average, age five to eight times faster than humans. By age two, most pets have already reached adulthood. At age four, many are entering middle age. By age seven, many dogs, particularly larger breeds, are entering their senior years. Because pets age so rapidly, major health changes can occur in a short amount of time.
Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, biopsy examination, cultures and infectious disease testing.
Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, intestinal worms and heartworms. Please see our heartworm page for more information. Worming is one of the first health care issues pet owners need to address as pups and kittens are the most susceptible. As their name suggests, intestinal worms are parasites that live inside your pet's intestines.

I have recently had to have a beloved cat put to sleep and as hard as that was I can say ALL of the staff at the clinic were so sympathetic and extremely helpful. They did not charge me an arm and a leg and made my process of leaving after the euthanasia, as easy and quick as possible. My fur baby was even placed in biodegradable bag that had his name written on it, a paw print drawn on and RIP all written so neatly in handwriting on the bag (it was not just a plastic bag it was cotton I believe so it looked dignified). I even received a heartwarming card the following week in the mail from Roma
