A lone explorer from Brisbane was travelling throughout Papua New Guinea and discovered that he was served locally-grown and freshly-roasted coffee wherever he went! The early cafe scene in Brisbane was being dominated by coffee imported from Europe and far past it's ideal use-by date. To bring this culture of fresh locally roasted beans to the coffee lovers of Brisbane.

Taking advantage of their recent deals. Order 2kg of our favorite coffee beans (Black Label) perfect for our Flat White. Asked for 10g of free sample (Chicago dark) and got 100g instead. Tried their new tea as well (Peach Berry Quencher and Berries of the Forest). Got whopping 30% off.. they rarely have sale... so we try to get more stuff this time. Place order and received within 2 days! How fast is that?

Ordered the Sample Pack on the day before and now I'm tasting the Black Label at Melbourne home. Beans are freshly roasted, it tastes smooth and well balanced. It's very good value to have four different roasts in one pack...Can't wait to try the other three. Under such circumstances when everything seems to be delayed, your superb service is really appreciated.

Asked for a 16 ounce latte with sugar, the girl who took my order was polite and told me that there is sugar available around the side of the shop. I asked if they could put it in prior to making it and she said to ask the other girl making the coffee to put them in. I got the sugar packets within moments and made the request, and the girl behind the counter looked at me with disgust and told me to put my own in. Coffee came out steaming hot and bitter, although the service was fast.
Ham and cheese croissant are over $8 however the coffee runs at what seems to be the average in Brisbane of $$5

When you have limited options in the airport waiting areas you can't afford to be fussy. Well you can, but stay with me. Aroma's in Brisbane's Virgin Australia terminal offers the standard café fare at the standard airport prices. I opted for a "keep me awake and alert" flat white, which was pleasant enough to drink - nothing outstanding to write home about. For the main Virgin Australia departure gates, this is my pick for that pre-flight waiting. Especially when you can perch on the window bar and take in the departing and arriving aircraft. Like all stores at the airport, expect to pay ridiculous prices here. In a way it's fortunate that the Aromas chain isn't that cheap to begin with (compared to its airport peers, including Red Rooster) because the step-up in price seems less severe. If you've been to the airport a decent amount of times, you already know you're going to overpay for whatever food you buy anyway. It's a universal thing.
They serve up the coffee fast at this Aromas, probably because they get rushed during busy flight periods. The food is less impressive. If you want a cafe-fresh sandwich

I have been going to Aromas in the Brisbane Airport for years now. It serves up a rather nice smooth latte and its nice and convenient with both its main cafe and express cafe close by. You can find Aromas in the food court near the Virgin end of the terminal. The staff are always pretty nice and the coffee comes out quick from the express stand which is great if you are dieing for a caffeine fix before rushing on a plane.
Aromas is also a Brisbane based coffee roaster and supplier so you can feel good supporting a local business by indulging here. They also have a nice selection of sandwiches
