Homewood Cottages
Homewood Cottages are situated in the heart of Highfields only 10km north of Toowoomba just off the New England Hwy. The cottages border Davidson's Arboretum an exquisite 1ha parkland featuring many varieties of beautiful autumn trees. Forest cottage has wheelchair accessibility and suitable for guests with reduced mobility and is also our pet friendly cottage.

You can visit the website and download the region's map for places to eat, play, shop and visit, while you stay with us.
Services
Since moving to Highfields from Mapleton in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland they have seen a lot of similarity in both areas. The growth of Highfields and the establishing of a number of tourist based businesses were the catalyst for their plan to establish Homewood Cottages.

Wanting to establish and provide something different in the accommodation sector was paramount in their plans which came to fruition when they purchased a holding which bordered Davidson's Arboretum. The Arboretum with its manicured gardens and exotic trees provide the perfect ambiance for the cottages.
Charming one bedroom cottage featuring polished recycled timbers, queen size brass bed, spa bath, fireplace heating and covered car parking. Fully self contained kitchen, private living area leading onto the front veranda overlooking established gardens and Davidson Arboretum. Oak cottage is not pet friendly.

Gorgeous property! We stayed in the 2 x bedroom cottage which was so beautiful, very English style gardens. The flowers and roses were in full bloom, they take great care and have such pride in their property. We met John and Jan on arrival and Jan made sure we had extra loo rolls (thank you Jan). We also stayed here with our 2 year old Labrador and whilst it wasn't fully fenced, it didn't bother us, we generally keep our dog on the lead outside anyway and she travels with us in the car at all times. The property is fully equipped with everything and we bought all our own supplies with us to cook

We recently stayed in Oak Cottage while visiting to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday. The cottage had heaps of small touches to make it feel like home. The gas fireplace was also a welcome addition for us as North Queenslander's visiting in Winter! A wonderful stay in a beautifully cleaned property. Thank you

Pet lovers BEWARE. This was the most disappointing experience, the accommodation description was deceitful & missing information. If we were told the truth about the property we would never considered booking and paying for it. Two cottages inside the property (what an initial gob smacked surprise), shared grounds with no segregation between properties & main gate not guaranteed to be closed. No fence along one side. We received cottage terms in email only after paying, making note, that we could not leave pets inside the dwelling if we were not there. So, nowhere to leave pets as grounds not secure

Great location, beautifully maintained gardenscape and handy to everything. We coincided our family visit with the Country Life Sunday Roast Long Lunch - a High Country Hamlets Hearth Wind and Fire event and booked both Cottages, the Oak & Forest. The cottages are great for a winter weekend getaway with the warmth and cosiness of the gas heated fireplace in each cottage. Thank you to our hosts John & Jan for their help with the booking and for the complimentary chocolates and biscuits (great with hot cup of coffee in front of the fire!)

Our stay was perfect. The cottage was very clean and beautifully presented. There was great communication and easy access. It was peaceful and quite. The bed was extremely comfortable. Lots of treats were left for us to enjoy which was truly appreciated. Would highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

Introducing Oak Cottage. Only 2 cottages on site. Has an arboretum next door to stroll in. Beautiful handy intimate location, for a honeymoon, anniversary, or other special occasion. Cosy fire, spa, and full facilities, in a tree surrounded location, close to Toowoomba, good restaurants, eclectic shopping, bushwalking and leisurely drives.

This cottage was close to Toowoomba and had everything we needed for a self catering few days. We stayed in the Oak cottage and it had beautiful gardens with some lovely birds visiting the bird feeder. Great to sit on the little verandah and enjoy the surroundings. The adjacent arboretum was also a lovely place to wander.

We stayed in the two bedroom Forest Cotttage. Tastefully decorated, exceptionally clean and fully equipped for any length of stay. Linen and towels of great quality and in plentiful supply. Cosy fireplace and gas heating. Very quiet location yet close to Chocolate Cottage and gift shops. We loved being able to take our little dogs . Lovely area for walking. Thanks so much John and Jan.
