Services
Skin wrinkles are a natural part of ageing regardless of skin care routines. As we age the fat pads under the skin and the connective tissue in the skin begin to decrease and result in sagging of the skin. Lines and skin wrinkles are caused by repetitive contractions of muscles under the skin.

At CIMED Aesthetics (Cosmetic Injectable Medicine) in Newcastle, we use anti-wrinkle injections to relax the muscles and prevent further lines forming in the skin. The effects of the injections are apparent after three days and usually last for three to four months. The anti-wrinkle injections are also used for conditions of excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) that occur on the palms of the hands, feet and the armpits.
Dermal fillers are natural gel products that are injected to sculpt the face. As we age the natural tissues and substances in our face decrease and starts to lose its underlying support resulting in hollow areas, sagging of skin and wrinkle formation. Fillers are injected to replace loss of facial volume and restore the normal contours of the face.
We understand that the cosmetic industry can appear daunting to newcomers, for that reason we have compiled a list of the most common questions we get asked in order to help answer any concerns you may have. The injections can be uncomfortable in sensitive areas however, numbing cream is applied before injecting and ice can also be used.
