The Proprietor shop at 459 Townsend Street is one of the oldest buildings of Albury, with its original foundations being laid pre 1890. It started its life as a saddler and was later converted to a butchers shop. It has a large cellar underneath that was used to store meat before the days of refrigeration.
It has undergone many facelifts during its life but the renovations we have completed mark one of the biggest changes it has seen. We have endeavored to fit out the shop using as many recycled materials and equipment as possible while not forgetting function, style and ambiance. We have also made most of the furniture and fittings by hand.

Just a quick stop here to have a coffee and snack while filling in an hour. Have been here before and the coffee good and this is the first time I've had food but from the look of the other patrons food they are good quality meals.
We just had a chicken and avocado toasted sanga and it was quite nice and just hit the spot to tide us over till lunch. The place was packed as you would expect of a good cafe on a Sunday morning.
The service was a little slow but I'm not surprised as there was quite a few people in the cafe and outside seating. But still happy with the service and time

My wife and I stopped in on our way back to Canberra from holidays in Victoria. It meant leaving the monotony of the Hume Highway which was a blessing.
The coffee was good and the breakfast - I had Eggs and Bacon with the lot - was great. My personal favourite was the homemade baked/braised beans - yum.

Cute spot and set up and friendly service
Food is just ok and some were not enjoyable at all.
Tried the gnocchi which was good, the cauliflower and cous cous salad was very bland.
Not sure if I would come back again as didn't really enjoy the meals I had here. Perhaps others are more lucky and I do hope to see some improvement to their menu.

Not sure it was possible to find great coffee on the road between Sydney and Melbourne - this place is totally worth the short detour! Great breakfast food - plenty of healthy options (and not-so-healthy... A friend had pork belly with holandaise... Mmmm). Good service and a cool vibe. Highly recommended!
