West Core Drilling
Scott started WCD in 2006, with operations commencing in 2007. Scott's involvement in the drilling industry commenced in 1992 when he started working for Wallis Drilling. Over time, we worked for some of the largest global drilling companies, both in Australia and overseas. He became convinced that by running a smaller specialist diamond drilling company, he could provide clients with better service and a superior product.

Scott's focus within the company is the safe operation of our rigs. He takes personal responsibility for development and practice of our safety management system. Scott's role is ensuring that all our clients' requirements are met, troubleshooting and mentoring of staff. Scott is available 24/7 to both our crews and clients.
Services
Geologist on the management team ensures a focus on recovery, presentation and orientations. Owners on call 24/7 always available to discuss client needs. Our digital Imdex Hub PLODS can be emailed to anyone you require, and detailed cost reports can be provided easily, no need to wait for your end of month invoice to find how costs are tracking.
This allows us to focus entirely on optimising the outcomes of our client's core drilling programs. Shallow angle drilling (rigs can drill from 30 to 90 degrees with the same penetration rates at all angles). Triple tube HQ3 and PQ3 coring for geotechnical and metallurgical purposes or for drilling in less consolidated formations.
There are many ways to ensure our clients' requirements are met. As West Core Drilling is a specialist core drilling contractor, we start from the perspective that it is our job to drill a straight hole! Working co-operatively with our clients to understand the ground conditions of the Prospect. Changing bit and barrel configurations and controlling penetration rates to best suit the ground conditions.
In 2013, after recognising an un-met need for a straightforward way of drill testing below existing mine infrastructure or into pit walls, at West Core Drilling we modified all our LF90 drill rigs to allow us to successfully drill at angles as shallow as -30°, (in comparison most surface drill rigs are not able to drill at angles of less than -50°).
The salt lakes of Western Australia represent one of the only remaining highly under-explored areas. Increasingly exploration companies are looking to these areas for their next discoveries. West Core Drilling has recently completed modifications to one of our LF90s that reduces its ground pressure to under 2psi.
