Association Of Consulting Surveyors
CSV assists our members by actively providing an extensive FPET program, promoting the surveying profession, publishing a bi-monthly newsletter, advocating to government on behalf of members, researching and reporting on relevant issues and representing our members at kindred industry forums. FPET Bank is CSV's online initiative aimed as simplifying and streamlining the events process for our members.
Services
CSV represents the private sector of the land surveying profession in this State. Victoria's surveying and mapping industry is broad-based, multi disciplinary and technologically advanced. CSV currently has over 114 member surveying firms spread across Victoria and these firms stay at the forefront of industry, planning and legislative updates primarily thanks to their membership, monthly newsletter, seminars and training courses run by CSV.
Subdivisions within existing developed areas together with creation of easements, leases, covenants and restrictions on title. The method of Measurement for net lettable areas provides a consistent, practical and cost efficient approach to the measurement of commercial buildings.

Most construction projects require the provision of survey control and continuing activities such as precise setting out of major components and measurement of earthwork quantities.Consulting Surveyors take the responsibility for these activities in the construction of major buildings, roads, bridges and underground services.
Subdivision is the process of creating individual titles for land parcels, units, apartments, shops and commercial and industrial buildings to enable their separate sale. Most subdivisions require a planning permit and all subdivisions require a Plan of Subdivision signed by a Licensed Surveyor. A Subdivisional Permit is normally issued if the proposal satisfies the relevant planning criteria.
What does a Surveyor do? Surveyors carry out the necessary design, measurements, calculations, plan and document presentation involved in a particular survey. What sort of Survey do I need? Consulting Surveyors offer many services and are very experienced so they will most likely be able to determine your needs.
To get an idea what a particular survey will cost, it is best to speak with your Consulting Surveyor. He/She will probably refer to the Guide for Survey fees, however there are often variables which will influence the extent of the fee. In some cases it may be possible to determine the fee prior to any work being carried out, whilst in some instances it may be agreed that the final fee be based upon the actual time taken.
