Services
Tas Sports Physio was first established in the late 1970's as Tasmania Sports & Physiotherapy Clinic. In that time we have gone on to become a widely respected and specialist provider of top end treatment for elite athletes, general injuries and preventative programs. Michael Jamison joined the practice as a partner in 1994, and has since been joined by Darren Poon and Dave Cusick.
The Tas Sports Physio team are specialists in all aspects of general physio, sports physio and sports rehab physio. Our services range from onsite massage, back care programs, real time treatment ultrasound and a falls prevention program. As part of our commitment to providing full rehabiliitation services, we also have a fully equipped onsite gym with an exercise rehabilitation therapist on hand as part of our team.
As most cyclists will know, being comfortable on your bike is critical, particularly as you increase the distances and times of your rides. It is important to consider both your body and your bike when setting yourself up, as an incorrect bike set-up or poor technique can lead to acute and chronic injuries or decreased cycling performance.
As our community ages there is an increased risk of falling. Whilst that may seem reasonably innocuous at first glance, there are serious implications and consequences from a fall in the elderly particularly. Fractures are more likely in that population due to lower bone mineral leading to more fragile bones.
Tae is a Remedial Massage Therapist, originally from Japan and has been living in Tasmania for 5 years. Since residing in Hobart, her technique has developed through integrating Remedial Massage with acupressure and myofascial release where she finds the effective release of tension and tightness. Her current interest is to study more about myofasicia and the meridian system to offer a holistic approach in the future.

Gave one price for the consultation when I made a phone enquire and charged more on the spot! Fast, shallow and superficial; nearly no relevant questions asked. Don't see the body as a whole, only look at the sore spot! Confusing diagnosis and prognosis. Poor advice. Basically a waste of my time and money ($100!).

Tae (massage therapist) is amazing. She is meticulous and really knows exactly how to relieve every ache and pain with care and attention to detail. The room was beautifully set up with heating and endless supply of hot towels. The quality essential oils were aromatic and used generously. After one session I am looking forward to my next one! Highly recommend her as a very professional and friendly massage therapist.

Darren and the team at Tas Sports Physio have literally been my bodies lifesavers.
I was recommended by my dance school to see Darren 6 years ago. He has helped me through dislocated knees, broken ankles, Shin Splints, broken arms, Jaw lock, neck and back programs and now post reconstructive ankle surgery. I have seen other physios throughout the… years when Darrien has been away, but no one really compares.
He tells you what you need to hear, he is honest and reliable, his treatment methods are effective and great at listening to me winge.
The reception team are incredible at the jobs
