Michael Woods has an extensive background in Criminal Law. He was a police officer for fifteen years and served as a prosecutor and detective in the Criminal Investigation Branch for a number of years. He left in 1995 and has been passionate in defending the rights of those charged. Having seen all sides of the law he is astute and aware of the pitfalls and difficulties of any given matter.
Olivia Fantis is an experienced senior solicitor within our firm, having been with Woods & Co Lawyers since graduating from a Bachelor of Laws with Honours at the University of Adelaide Olivia is known for her practical and organised approach to matters, thorough knowledge of the law and compassionate nature.
Hugh joined the team at Woods & Co Lawyers in 2015. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in early 2018, after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice from Flinders University. Hugh regularly appears before the Magistrates Court of South Australia and the District Court of South Australia in criminal proceedings.

With 20 years experience in the industry, we have successfully represented and defended people charged with murder, rape, robbery, fraud, drugs, and sexual offences. AGSCT is an offence that used to be called House Break and Larceny. The law was expanded to capture those who enter or remain in a place of residence with the intention to commit an offence to which the section applies. Relevant offences that are considered to be included in criminal trespass are theft, property damage and assault.

I recently had Hugh Woods to help me with my Traffic offense. He's skills and ideas were alot different to other people and managed to reduce demerit points for me. Woods & Co were highly recommended by someone I trust. I've represented myself a few times before and had an expectation of what would be a best case scenario. Reality is this comes down to the prosecutor, the magistrate and how your case is presented. This time the stakes were higher so I went with Woods & Co. I could personally not recommend Woods & Co any higher, both Hugh and Michael made a daunting experience very seamless, with the outcome being extremely positive.
